Trump Gives Up Greenland Threat: No Invasion, No Tariffs After He Says “Framework Deal” with NATO, Epstein Files Return

0

And so it goes: Donald Trump has backed off his bullying and posturing over Greenland.

In Davos at the Economic Forum, all European leaders mocked him openly for suggesting an armed invasion of Greenland. He said the countries that didn’t back him would suffer tariffs.

Now in a post on his Truth Social, Trump waves the white flag.

He writes:
“Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region. This solution, if consummated, will be a great one for the United States of America, and all NATO Nations. Based upon this understanding, I will not be imposing the Tariffs that were scheduled to go into effect on February 1st.”

In other words he comes away with the same deal he’s always had with Greenland as part of NATO.

This is a huge embarrassment but most welcome.

Now, back to the release of the Epstein files. We have not forgotten, Donnie.

Taylor Swift (and Maybe Mariah Carey) May Shut Down Times Square In June for Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala

0

I wouldn’t want to be at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square on June 11th.

Taylor Swift will be there to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Taylor got in on the first try, which I predicted. Why not? The ballroom will sell out in ten seconds, if it hasn’t already. Swift is also the youngest inductee ever or at least during this phase of the SHOF.

The others who made it in include Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS, Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, Tricky Stewart.

Walter, of course, has been Mariah Carey’s collaborator for 30 years. He wrote and produced “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” Will Mariah show up and sing it? Mariah and Taylor in the same room will cause pandemonium.

As an inductee, Taylor will be treated to performances of her songs by artists she selects, or she’ll sing them herself.

Graham and Lyle are famous for writing Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do With It?”

SHOF will make some other announcements soon for special awards. Isn’t it weird that after raising millions of dollars there still is no actual building for the Hall of Fame? They should make it part of the Grammy Museum, or the Rock Hall.

PS I guess we know now Taylor’s not getting married the weekend before or after this shindig!

Harry Styles’ New Single, “Aperture,” Drops Thursday Night from Album Not Called “Shutter to Think” or “Freeze Frame” or “F Stop”

0

Harry Styles has found a song title with a word that rhymes with nothing.

It’s called “Aperture,” which means the opening on a camera lens. Very catchy, right?

He called have called the song “Shutter to Think.” Or, since Harry loves 70s and 80s music, “Freeze Frame.”

Actually, “F Stop” would have been a good title for a disco single.

The new album, called “Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally,” drops March 6th. The single comes this Thursday at 7pm Eastern.

Marketing is already in full swing on this project. There’s even a mysterious website set up at www.webelongtogether.co that shows…absolutely nothing yet except the picture below.

“Melania” Movie Sells 3 Tickets So Far for Preview in Dickson City, PA Near Scranton, Same Night as Kennedy Center Premiere

0

If you can’t get into the premiere of the “Melania” movie on opening night, I’ll tell you a secret.

While the MAGA get all dressed up for “Melania” at the Kennedy Center on January 29th, Brett Ratner’s ode to the greatest first lady in history has one other preview that I can find.

It’s in Dickson City, PA at the Regal Theater. Dickson City is just south of Scranton.

There are four shows. There may be a red carpet, but probably purple because you don’t have to clean them so often.

For the main show, at 6:30pm, “Melania” unspools with three tickets sold so far.

Otherwise, as you can see from the seat maps below, “Melania” remains mostly unsold. I’m sure sales will pick up closer to the January 30th release date.

I don’t know why Dickson City was chosen for this special honor. It’s in Lackawanna County, PA where there was lack of a lotta Trump votes in 2020. Joe Biden beat him there, by over 9,000 votes.

PS If you’re in Dickson City, and you go that Thursday night preview, email me at showbiz411@gmail.com

Hillary Duff — Popstar Mom of Four — Releases X Rated Comeback Song with Lyrics About Oral Sex, Pleasuring Herself to Porn

0

A girl’s gotta make a living, right?

Hillary Duff does, apparently, but maybe she should do it on OnlyFans.

The 38 year old mom of three has a new song called “Roommates.” I doubt her kids — a 12 year old son and three little girls — singing along in the car going to soccer practice.

The lyrics include the singer giving her lover oral sex — graphically — in the back of a dive bar. She also sings about pleasuring herself while watching porn.

Times have changed, for sure. Maybe she’ll tell the kids she was giving the guy a “head-ache.” (And maybe she was!)

This is all part of Duff’s big musical comeback at Atlantic Records, which is spending a fortune on her. Apparently (I know I missed this) Duff had a big record career 15 years ago. (I was in the shower.)

The music for “Roommates” sounds like it was AI’d from Taylor Swift. Again, whatever works!

I guess I’m naive, I thought she’d be going the Kelly Clarkson route, or country music, for families.

I only want the beginning, I don’t want the end
Want the part where you say, “Goddamn”
Back of the dive bar, giving you head
Then sneak home late, wake up your roommates
Want the highlights, ten out of ten (Ah-ah)
The butterflies from holding your hand (Ah-ah)
Before we swept us under the bed
And we became practically roommates
I’m touching myself looking at porn
‘Cause you don’t even look my way no more

Mariah Carey Will Use Her Own Band for Musicares Tribute with Eclectic Roster of Singers Including JHud, Foo Fighters

0

Mariah Carey’s Musicares night next Friday sounds like an eclectic evening.

Performers include Billy Porter, Foo Fighters, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, and Laufey, Adam Lambert, Charlie Puth, Kesha, Maggie Rogers, Teddy Swims, and Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless.

Fans who make the two-hours-in-traffic rush hour trip to the LA Convention Center will hear those artists sing Mariah’s hits with Carey’s band as back up. Musicares went this way instead of using their usual musical directors and musicians.

Who will get to sing Mariah’s one and only show stopper, “Vision of Love”? JHud maybe, who’s the power singer in that gang.

Jermaine Dupri will open the night with a special DJ set, likely also of Mariah’s hits and favorite songs. Dupri gave Mariah her biggest album hit with “The Emancipation of Mimi” two decades ago.

What will the Foo Fighters do exactly? That should be the talk of the night.

No mention of Randy Jackson, Q Tip, or other Mariah collaborators such as BoyzIIMen or Trey Lorenz, or even Mariah’s recent singing partner, Ariana Grande.

Tickets for the event — which supports this incredibly important charity — range from $3,000 solo to $80,000 for a Diamond Table that seats 12 and includes an appetizer.

Seriously, Musicares supports musicians who need health care, rehab, living expenses and so many other things. It’s the number 1 charity of the Grammys and needs all the love we can send!

PS Will Mariah sing? Usually the honoree doesn’t perform, although there have been times in the past — particularly with the rock stars — when they do join in.

Why Brooklyn Beckham Prefers His Wife’s Much Wealthier Family Over His Own: And What About Those Peltzes? Remember Chandi Heffner?

0

We’ve been dealing with soccer star David Beckham and designer wife Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham for 27 years. They’ve built a life being tabloid fodder. There isn’t a magazine cover they didn’t want to be on. Affairs, fights, you name it.

But you know what? They made it. They’re still together. They have three children. They’ve succeeded financially despite tongues wagging every single day. They deserve some credit for that.

Their mistake: not giving their kids any structure or education. The result is that their eldest, Brooklyn, 26, is a moron. They let him get bought off by an American billionaire, Nelson Peltz, 83, the bad guy in every business story in which he appears. How do you think he became worth $1.7 billion? It wasn’t having to take soccer balls to the head. Or listening to strangers say you couldn’t sing.

Peltz has been married twice — two children from his first marriage, eight with his second wife, Claudia Heffner. Claudia’s sister, “Chandi,” you may recall got herself adopted by billionaire Doris Duke and inherited $65 million for being extremely clever. See a theme in the Heffner family?

Nicola Peltz is number 5 among the Peltz-Heffner 8 children. When she married Brooklyn Beckham in 2022, she was a 28 year old failed actress with two Razzie nominations. He was 23, barely an adult and without portfolio. Their only claim to fame or income was their parents.

Now Brooklyn, who prefers his wife’s wealthier family to his own, has broken with his family. In absurd, immature declaration on Instagram, Brooklyn says his parents were only interested in money, their brand, and criticizing his wife. He doesn’t appreciate that his father is an enormously successful self made athlete, or that his mother began her career as a Spice Girl. Why would he? He’s never had to do a thing.

Brooklyn’s complaints against his parents are not being met with sympathy. Fighting over a wedding dress, or a dance? Keep it yourself, buddy. Mad about your parents’ business? Thank them for it every day. It’s how you were able to glide through life, date models, mix with rich kids, and not have to worry about student debt. You never had to.

And what about Nicola Peltz, the “filmmaker”? Her acting skills have not improved. Playing the victim in this story may only get her another Razzie nom, and maybe a win.

Kids, we have bigger problems right now.

Shocking, Pathetic Trump Letter to Norway: They Wouldn’t Give Him Nobel Peace Prize, So He’ll Take Greenland Instead

0

We are living in some kind of time warp, maybe the Matrix, or in one of Christopher Nolan’s nightmares.

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, sent the most pathetic and shocking message yet of his decade long tenure as the country’s chief miscreant.

He told the president of Norway that because he couldn’t get the Nobel Peace Prize, he’ll take Greenland as a consolation prize. Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre confirmed receipt of the letter, which itself was a response to a letter sent to Trump by world leaders asking him to turn down the heat on the Greenland situation.

Trump wrote:

“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway? There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT”

This is insanity, but it’s not new and it won’t be the end of it. Who do we blame for this rip in the public consciousness? MAGA, and the perceived white trash followers of Trump? Or it is the people we thought were rational and yet voted for him a second time, knowing the dangers that would come instantly?

RIP Roger Allers, the Heart of Modern Disney’s Animation Success, Director of “The Lion King, Dies at 76

0

The man responsible for all of Disney’s modern success died today at 76.

Roger Allers, director of “The Lion King,” has passed away.

Allers was the heart of all the movies we loved starting in the 80s including “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” all of it.

To say Allers was beloved is an understatement.

“60 Minutes” Finally Airs Sharyn Alfonsi’s Infamous El Salvador Prison Piece Tonight, While “CBS Sunday Morning” Also Fights Back

0

CBS is finally airing Sharyn Alfonsi’s banned “60 Minutes” segment tonight

You can still watch it here because two weeks ago, the network had already sent the show to Canadian TV.

New CBS chief Bari Weiss was heavily criticized for pulling the piece about Donald Trump sending Venezuelan prisoners to a torture chamber prison in El Salvador called CECOT.

Reaction inside and outside of CBS News was full of anger, accusing Weiss of carrying Trump’s water, protecting him for her bosses David and Larry Ellison. She said the network had tried to get a comment from the government but had no luck.

CBS News could not be in worse shape right now. Two full weeks of Tony Dokoupil shilling for Weiss on The CBS Evening News have been a disaster.

There are bright spots, however. Margaret Brennan is continuing to push back on “Face the Nation.” And “CBS Sunday Morning” is still resisting censorship. Watch below this morning’s Reckoning for Trump piece. It was excellent. Plus, their civil rights piece was a total rebuke of Trump.

At least, they’re trying.
