Kanye West Banned from Performing in UK by Brits as Transactional Apology Not Accepted by Government

0

All is not forgiven.

The British government has banned Kanye West from entering their countries. The Wireless music festival is cancelled.

Kanye was set to play three shows in London in July at the Festival. But once the announcement was made, all the festival’s sponsors pulled out — some on Easter Sunday.

The British government condemned the idea of avowed antisemite and racist being allowed to perform as well as visit the country. West, who calls himself Ye, is already banned in Australia.

Yesterday, the head of the Wireless Festival shamelessly tried to endorse Kanye in order to keep his business alive. Melvin Brenn showed himself to be an unmitigated coward in the process. West offered to meet with Jewish leaders in the UK, but the response was that would only happen if the concerts were cancelled.

It’s only a year ago that Kanye West released a song called “Heil Hitler,” and sold Nazi t shirts. For years he embraced Hitler and blamed all of his problems on Jews.

A few weeks ago he thought he could overcome his status as a pariah by taking out an ad apologizing in the Wall Street Journal. But the apology was transactional. He just wanted to make money again.

The Brits have made a wise decision where the owners of Los Angeles’s SoFi Stadium did not, and let Kanye perform on the first night of Passover.

Meantime, West’s album, “Bully,” is in the top five on albums charts with sales last week of 145,000. But sales this week won’t be as strong.

The statement:

“The Home Office has withdrawn YE’s ETA, denying him entry into the United Kingdom. As a result, Wireless Festival is cancelled and refunds will be issued to all ticket holders. As with every Wireless Festival, multiple stakeholders were consulted in advance of booking YE and no concerns were highlighted at the time. Antisemitism in all its forms is abhorrent, and we recognize the real and personal impact these issues have had. As YE said today, he acknowledges that words alone are not enough, and in spite of this still hopes to be given the opportunity to begin a conversation with the Jewish community in the UK”

Kanye Still on the Bill But Wireless Festival Removes Names of ALL Sponsors as All Defect Rather than Endorse Rapper

0

This summer’s Pepsi Wireless Festival in London is no more.

Now it’s just the Wireless Festival as Pepsi’s name has been removed.

All other sponsors’ names have been pulled as well.

But the Wireless Festival is still advertising Kanye West for three nights in July.

They may be waiting for the UK government to ban Kanye from entering the country. That way he won’t be able to sue them for being dropped from the shows.

It’s a cowardly way out but they have few choices after they made the egregious decision to feature him in the first place.

Tickets are supposed to go on sale on the 8th, Wednesday. Let’s see if that happens at all.

Stay tuned…

Are the Rolling Stones Touring After All? Has Keith Richards Been Cloned? New Image on Website Suggests April 11th Announcement

0

We knew the Rolling Stones were making a big announcement on April 11th.

We thought it was a new album. It may still be, anyway.

But the Stones website now indicates a tour could be coming. There’s a new image on the site that’s emblazoned with the words “The Tour” over an airplane. There’s an update Stones tongue logo. And a note saying to check back for tour dates.

Yes, we thought Keith Richards was done with touring. But maybe he’s feeling better. Or maybe the Stones will just do residencies in a couple of cities.

We can only hope!

Music Mogul Clive Davis Takes a Much Deserved Victory Lap with Spur of the Moment 94th Birthday Party in New York

0

Clive Davis loves a good party, we know that.

He’s famous for his pre-Grammy parties in Los Angeles every winter.

The legendary music mogul doesn’t mind celebrating his birthday every year, too. Why not? He was an orphan from an early age, and built a big family around him.

On Saturday night, Davis — the man who brought us hundreds of superstars from Janis Joplin to Whitney Houston — celebrated his 94th turn around the sun with a spur of the moment gathering at Prive at Le Bernardin restaurant in midtown. Yes, it’s the number 1 dining establishment in America. Did you expect anything less?

It was all family and friends, including a few people from show business like Broadway producers Fran and Barry Weissler, actress Brenda Vaccaro, entertainment mogul Charles Goldstuck, philanthropists Francine LeFrak and Rick Friedberg, and so on. Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law who runs her estate, flew in from Atlanta.

Everyone in the room had a Clive story. There were plenty of accounts of his nightly going out in Miami this winter. A group from down there recounted going to see Lady Gaga’s show recently.

From LA, there was talk of Davis recently having dinner at Joni Mitchell’s house (that’s where this picture comes from).

Clive thanked philanthropist Iris Smith for underwriting the NY Philharmonic when they played in Central Park for his “Welcome Back” concert a couple of years ago. He also gave a beautiful shout out to his remarkable partner of 21 years, Greg Schriefer. There were loving toasts from Clive’s sons, Fred and Douglas, and grandson Charlie. Davis is a great grandfather now!

Pat Houston was summoned to the microphone where she expressed her thanks and gratitude for their long relationship. “If Whitney were alive, she’d be sitting right next to Clive at his table,” she said. “That’s how close they were.”

What’s next? “Knock wood,” Clive declared, “95!”

Donald Trump Didn’t Attend Easter Services, But Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri Did in Atlanta — See Their Shout Out

0

Donald Trump skipped Easter services.

But Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri didn’t. They went to church in Atlanta at the Ebenezer Baptist Church.

You can see the video below. It’s very sweet. Mariah has her kids with her, and her long time manager Michael Richardson.

Too bad we can’t see her bonnet!

UK Home Secretary Urges Parliament Not to Allow Kanye West into Country for Wireless Festival this Summer (Read)

0

The UK Home Secretary has written a letter to Parliament urging that Kanye West not be allowed into the country.

MP Chris Philp has written to the MP Shabana Mahmood, citing West’s history of antisemitism. See below.

The Wireless Festival has little choice now than to cancel and rethink what it’s done. That would be Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Festival Republic, the firm that owns the Festival.

Kanye West Freefall: Budweiser Now Lone Major Sponsor That Hasn’t Pulled Out of London Summer Music Festival

0

Budweiser is now the lone major sponsor left for this summer’s Wireless Festival in London.

Rockstar energy drink has joined Pepsi, Diageo (Johnnie Walker, Captain Morgan), and PayPal in exiting over the planned three days of shows by Kanye West.

The festival has not acknowledged any of this, keeping the names of the brands on the site. But they are gone.

I first cited the brands on March 31st, especially Pepsi. It took them a few days to acknowledge their mistake — not because of us, but because the UK government said forget it. They didn’t want the Nazi spewing antisemite to perform in their country.

Kanye was dropped by all his own major sponsors and business affiliates including The Gap, Adidas, and Balenciaga two years ago or more over the same reasoning.

Nevertheless, the rapper doubled down, selling t shirts with swastikas.

Somehow, Kanye — who calls himself Ye — convinced SoFi Stadium to stage two shows there last week. He thought he’d scored his Renaissance. But the first show was a bust, held on the first night of Passover — so much for being apologetic about antisemitism.

The second show did fill up — but attracted skinheads.

Kanye’s album, “Bully,” sold 145,000 copies last week and came in at number 2.

“Bully” comes from Gamma Records, which is owned in large part by Eldridge Industies’ Todd Boehly — who also owns The Hollywood Reporter, Dick Clark Productions, and the LA Dodgers.

Gamma has had several failures already with Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Usher and other acts. This debacle could put an end to the company’s president, Larry Jackson. I’m hearing others in the record business are very angry with him.

Now we wait for word from Budweiser, and also from the Festival which must remove Pepsi’s name from their website — and all the other sponsors.

CBS News Capitulates to Trump Again, Lets Rev. Franklin Graham Give A Sermon About Jesus at the End of “60 Minutes”

0

This is outrageous.

“60 Minutes” turned over its last minute tonight to Franklin Graham.

A devout Trump supporter, Graham gave a sermon about Jesus and Christian Faith, saying the latter is what formed this country.

This means that Bari Weiss, the conservative Jew who is now running CBS News, capitulated to Trump as usual — despite her own religious beliefs and those of CBS’s owners, the Ellisons

I’m embarrassed for Bill Whittaker, who went along with this egregious decision. Also, executive producer Tanya Simon, who apparently Weiss is trying to oust.

Franklin is the son of the late Rev. Billy Graham, who was respected around the world despite hiccups like being caught on tape with Richard Nixon expressing antisemitism. (He later apologized.) Franklin is another story. His views are extremely right wing, anti-anything that involves human rights. He’s anti-Muslim, anti-gay, and so on.

So CBS not only gave Trump a sop here but also gave Graham a free commercial within the show.

But here’s a note to Bari Weiss and her cabal: America is not founded on Christian values. It’s founded on freedom, for all religions. This was offensive tonight.

Screwy Right Wing Newsmax Hires “Days of Our Lives” Actor to Anchor Weekend News As One More Faux Journalist

Newsmax isn’t known for its journalism, certainly.

It’s a channel for people who think Fox News isn’t crazy enough with fictional right wing reporting.

Their latest hire is a soap opera actor, which seems appropriate.

Kyle Lowder comes from the NBC soap, “Days of our Lives,” where he’s played a couple of different roles over the years.

Lowder will anchor Newsmax’s weekend “Wake Up America,” which has about two viewers. His previous experience is anchoring the news in Reno, Nevada. Otherwise, don’t worry. He’s not a journalist.

The soap actor will be joining such stars as completely off the wall Trump supporter Greg Kelly, former Foxer Greta van Susteren, and Robs Finnerty and Schmidt.

Lowder should fit in pretty well. His ex-wife and former co-star, Ariane Zucker, was the actress Donald Trump was talking about with Billy Bush during infamous “grab ’em by the p*ssy” incident from “Access Hollywood.” Zucker was not offended, and later indicated that she supported Trump.

So, see? We’ve been complaining about Tony Dokoupil.

On Instagram, by the way, Lowder tells his fans he can’t reveal his new job. He’s forgotten that he’s listed it on LinkedIn already. The news is in good hands.

His first story at Newsmax will be reporting on the start of tariffs.

And these are the days of our lives.

Kanye Krumbles: Johnnie Walker, Captain Morgan Join Pepsi, Pull Out of Wireless Fest: PayPal Also UPDATED

0

MONDAY AM UPDATE: PAYPAL DROPS WIRELESS FEST TOO!

The company that distributes Johnnie Walker and Captain Morgan is out of the Wireless Festival.

Diageo has pulled its sponsorship of a three day event in London in July featuring Kanye West.

They join Pepsi, which exited this morning.

These defections are happening so fast that Wireless hasn’t even changed its website.

This leaves Budweiser, PayPal, and Rockstar Energy Drink as the sole sponsors of shows featuring the racist, antisemitic, Hitler embracing rapper.

Will Wireless replace these lead sponsors? Will they cancel Kanye and invite new unobjectionable performers?

Maybe Kanye will just pay for the shows himself.

Thanks to criticism from the UK government, from media like this site, and others, sponsors are waking up to the so called Kanye Revival, in which a man who was singing “Heil Hitler” last year is trying to normalize himself. It ain’t happenin’.
