Shyne Barrow was an up and coming rapper when he went to Club New York in 1999 with P Diddy aka Sean Puffy Combs and Jennifer Lopez.
After a wild shooting, and a trial, Barrow went to jail for ten years. Diddy went scot-free.
Now Barrow tells his story in “The Honorable Shyne,” coming to Hulu. He says, “I was absolutely set up to be the fall guy.”
Barrow’s story has a happy ending. He became a respected politician in Belize. But still, he lost a decade of his life because of Combs. The timing of this documentary is essential as Combs sits in jail waiting for a trial that won’t start until May 2025. He’s been hit with dozens of lawsuits and hundreds of accusations concerning rape of men, women, and children. Every day brings new and alarming revelations for the former music mogul.

Yelp has temporarily disabled reviews for the McDonald’s in Feasterville, PA, the one where Donald Trump staged his campaign stunt on Sunday.
Fake reviews are pouring in from “reviewers” all over the country. They’re funny, but not so amusing probably to McDonald’s. They can’t be happy that the owner of the franchise let Trump make a mockery of them on Sunday.

Fire that smelly old man cursing at the fryer! Employees seemed extremely angry and confused like he didn’t even really know where he was. I think I smelled shit.
Customer service was a joke. Senile old man got bronzer on my fries, didn’t wear gloves. Repeated himself several times, something about Ronald McDonald in the showers at the golf club? Idk.
The person who was at the drive through vaguely resembled someone who I saw on the news for being a convicted felon.. i was handed these disgusting French fries along with a burder from an older man who seems to be someone who bragged about how he’s allowed to grab things.. “when you’re an employee, they let you do it!!” He exclaimed as he thrusted the bag in my face almost suggestively which made me feel very uncomfortable. He offered to pay me some hush money to keep this story quiet.
There was some sort of orange goo dripped on our fries. The incoherent old guy working the window was slurring his words and refused to give us our change. He said he already gave it to me, but I could see it sticking out of his pocket.
We know Kevin Costner is not in Season 5, Part 2 of “Yellowstone.” He was off making “Horizon,” his flop movie about the Civil War.
Nevertheless, the trailer for “Y5.2” makes it seem like he’s there. But pay close attention. They’ve used old footage and narration to give the impression John Dutton is still around.
In fact, the action involves a lot of other people. It will be interesting to see how they avoid the Dutton character, or whether he’ll die in a blaze of glory.
The Boss will appear on Thursday in Atlanta and next Monday in Philadelphia for Kamala Harris. He’s already endorsed Harris, which is no surprise. But now they’re all pulling out the big guns.
Springsteen won’t just smile and wave from the stage. You know he’ll bring his guitar and sing a couple of songs like “Land of Hopes and Dreams.”
Will Bruce help Harris’s campaign? Even if he doesn’t convert Republicans, he’s going to make sure every Democrat votes in key states.
On Friday, you could hear the LA press kvelling over Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II.” But the New York types were skeptical. “Come on,” one said, “they’re in Hollywood. They have to like it.”
Paramount brought the film to New York last night so we could see it in an IMAX theater. And guess what? “Gladiator II” is the real deal, a big deal, a probable Oscar contender. Everyone is rooting for Scott, who turns 87 and has never won an Academy Award. He didn’t come last night for a Q&A but plenty of others did.
They included cast members Paul Mescal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen (the only holdover from the original “Gladiator”) and Fred Hechinger. In the audience we ran into a smattering of SAG members including Kim Cattrall, Ice T, Wendell Pierce, and the legendary Barbara Barrie. (She was chatting with Oscar and Emmy winning documentary filmmaker Milton Justice.)
Barrie, who’s 93 and moves like she’s 63, of course starred in “Breaking Away,” for which she received an Oscar nomination. She has a Tony nomination for the original cast of “Company.” She was the title character’s wife in “Barney Miller.” Barrie still has that twinkle in her eye. What a thrill to see her!
At the Q&A, Denzel — who was on his way to another screening and Q&A for “The Piano Lesson” — revealed that the for him playing “Othello” this winter on Broadway came from a conversation on the set of “GII.” Mescal — a current “It” guy in film — turns out to be a lovely chap, incredibly charming and very social. This movie is his first big studio venture, and he has no idea what’s about to happen to him. He told me he’s tired of the paps in London following him around. “How many pictures can they take?” he asked.
Connie Nielsen is reprising her role from 24 years ago. She looks the same. She’s gorgeous. She said, “I’m 60!” I did ask about plastic surgery, but she said being from Denmark has helped keep her young. Also she doesn’t live in Hollywood. Mescal plays her son in the movie, which doesn’t seem possible.
We have a lot indie movies vying for Oscar attention this season but just two big releases — this one, and “Dune Two.” This is the Year of Ridley Scott, so don’t discount that. Mescal is excellent in the film, but Denzel is off the charts.

Nothing will stop Lady Gaga from her fall offensive.
On Thursday night Gaga will drop the first single from her seventh album. It may be called “Disease,” at least that’s what comes up on Spotify.
This is after Gaga’s “Harlequin” album died on arrival, killed by “Joker Folie a Deux.”
But Gaga has also had an enormous hit with Bruno Mars on “Die with a Smile,” which has been at the top of the charts for weeks.
“Harlequin” should have been a hit and could be saved in the jazz categories by the Grammy Awards. I hope so. Her singing is exquisite.
“Disease” will be an out of the box hit on Thursday night. And then we wait for “LG7” or whatever it’s called. It will be Gaga’s first album since “Chromatica.”
“60 Minutes” has blasted back at Donald Trump over accusations it edited Kamala Harris’s interview two weeks ago.
Trump has accused CBS of editing the interview to make Harris look good. He’s threatened to sue the network or shut it down if he is elected next month.
CBS and the show respond: “That is false.”

“Former President Donald Trump is accusing 60 Minutes of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. That is false.
60 Minutes gave an excerpt of our interview to Face the Nation that used a longer section of her answer than that on 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But a different portion of the response. When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete, or movie star, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point. The portion of her answer on 60 Minutes was more succinct, which allows time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute-long segment.
Remember, Mr. Trump pulled out of his interview with 60 Minutes and the vice president participated.
Our long-standing invitation to former President Trump remains open. If he would like to discuss the issues facing the nation and the Harris interview, we would be happy to have him on 60 Minutes.”
Two movies about Trump have failed at the box office. One was for him, the other against him.
But no one apparently wanted to pay to see Trump on the big screen. You can’t blame them.
The one ‘for’ him is called “Vindicating Trump.” It’s made by former felon and disgraced journalist Dinesh D’Souza, a well known conspiracy theorist. The “documentary” has made just $1.4 million in four weeks of release. He went to jail in 2014 for making illegal political contributions on one felony count. In 2018, Trump pardoned him.
The film ‘against’ Trump is “The Apprentice,” starring Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong. Released to much fanfare by Briarcliff Entertainment, the highly praised narrative film has made only $3.2 million in two weeks. There were high hopes for “The Apprentice,” which depicts Donald sexually attacking his then wife, Ivana, among other things. (This was based on a statement she made years ago and was then retracted.)
The lesson? Trump is a box office dud, for better or worse. “The Apprentice” is still in theaters.
Melania posted a photo today she took of an airplane flying in the clouds. She was on a flight to China, no doubt to make money for her and her husband. She was likely on Air Force One, with Air Force Two in the distance.
Trump says these photos will appear in the Collector’s Edition of her fiction book, “Melania.” This photo is not of people in China, or anything remotely interesting. How many of us have taken pictures of clouds from a window seat? It’s pretty, but not very remarkable. Can’t wait to see the rest of her collection: mannequins in store windows and so on.

Today’s stunt at a McDonald’s was staged by Donald Trump and his campaign. The McDonald’s in Feasterville, PA (is that really the name of the town?) was CLOSED according to a letter posted by the owner, Derek Giacomantonio. He said the campaign asked for it.
So all the press who covered this sham of an event should be mentioning the closure in their stories. Trump was not working a regular, functioning store. It was all set up so he could take swipes at Kamala Harris. It’s pathetic.
Harris celebrated her 60th birthday at a packed church in Georgia where the congregation sang Stevie Wonder’s “Happy Birthday” song to her. It was real, and very moving. It was a regular church service that the parishioners will never forget!
PS If you want to know why Trump looks the way he does in the picture, it’s because he pretty much eats McDonald’s all the time. No wonder he doesn’t want to release his medical records!
