Shocking Facebook Book Exposé Jumps to Number 3 on Amazon After Meta Gives it a Lifetime of Publicity in Court Scuffle

0

THURS NIGHT UPDATE: “Careless People” is now number 3. Congrats to the Meta lawyers!

Book publisher Macmillan and Flatiron Books just got the gift for which every book company prays.

An arbitrator has ruled that “Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism” by Sarah Wynn Williams, can no longer be promoted or distributed by the author.

But the ruling has no bearing on the publisher, which is continuing to sell the book.

The result is that “Careless People” has jumped to number 6 on amazon. It’s a hit! A big hit! More people will buy this book now than ever would have prior to the decision.

It’s also number 59 on Kindle, which means curiosity seekers are downloading it like crazy for just $16.99. “Careless People” is number 15 on Audible as well. LOL

The book, by Facebook’s former employee, has all kinds of lurid stories about what has gone at Mark Zuckerberg’s company. Of course, Facebook denies all of it.

But what a mistake they made here. Book publishers don’t like to spend money on promotion anyway. Now they don’t have to! Meta has done it for them!

Just watch “Careless People” climb to number 1 today.

Trump Attacks Wall Street Journal aka Murdoch, Threatens 200% Tariff on European Liquor, Ludicrously Quotes FDR

0

Good morning.

Donald Trump edged closer to senility and madness this morning. He attacked the Wall Street Journal — meaning Rupert Murdoch.

He also threatened a 200% tariff on all European liquor and Champagne.

On the latter, Trump declared: “This will be great for the Wine and Champagne businesses in the U.S.”

Since Trump doesn’t drink he has no idea what he’s talking about. There is no US Champagne business. Champagne is a region in France and only that region can produce anything called Champagne. Americans will not be putting down their Veuve Cliquot for bubbly drinks made here.

Also, sorry, I know there are fans of California and Oregon wines, but nothing will replace actual wine from France and Italy, Spain, and so on.

As for the Wall Street Journal, owned by Rupert Murdoch, upon whom Trump depends for backing on Fox News, this whole post is insane. He actually quotes FDR at the end. Roosevelt would have had Trump arrested for treason by now.

“The Globalist Wall Street Journal has no idea what they are doing or saying. They are owned by the polluted thinking of the European Union, which was formed for the primary purpose of “screwing” the United States of America. Their (WSJ!) thinking is antiquated and weak, and very bad for the USA. But have no fear, we will WIN on everything!!! Egg prices are down, oil is down, interest rates are down, and TARIFF RELATED MONEY IS POURING INTO THE UNITED STATES. “The only thing you have to fear, is fear itself!”

John Mulaney Talk Show Premiere Catastrophe: Calls Luigi Mangione a Slur for Italian Americans, Squanders Legend Joan Baez

0

John Mulaney’s talk show, “Everybody’s Live,” just ended on Netflix.

It was an mitigated disaster.

He made a joke about the murder of a healthcare executive and used the slur ‘wop’ for alleged killer Italian American Luigi Mangione. Mulaney claimed he’d done the killing and then “pinned it on a gorgeous young Wop.”

The show featured a random selection of celebrities — Michael Keaton, Joan Baez, Fred Armisen, and a female financial advice columnist. They were all of them more lost than a panel on the old Joe Franklin Show.

The theme for some reason was finances and lending money to friends, hence the columnist. It made no sense whatsoever, was forced, and the celebrities seems clueless.

To make matters worse, Tracy Morgan appeared — stoned out of his gourd– and made no sense at all.

Richard Kind, always a welcome sight, played the side kick.

They might as well have made an episode of “Fernwood Tonight.”

To waste 80 year old Baez on this crap should result in arrests. She was very gracious as she responded to pointless questioning. She managed to get in one statement: “We’re all here to be silly and have fun, and as long as we recognize the fact that our democracy is going up in flames. . .we’re being run by a bunch of really incompetent billionaires.”

Keaton, who told a pointless story about Jack Nicholson must be horrified. He can’t be blamed. He was trapped in an untenable situation.

There was also a sketch in which Mulaney interviewed a bunch of actors — including Christopher Lloyd — dressed as the character Willy Loman — who they’d played on stage once — from “Death of a Salesman.” Arthur Miller is rolling in his grave.

John Mulaney can be utterly brilliant. He is on “SNL” with his musicals, his monologues are gems. But here was just adrift. The show seemed like it was written by people who’d been up all night smoking dope. Kind read off birthdays and saluted late singer Al Jarreau as if he were alive. Then they made a lame joke about that. Poor Richard. He’s better than that.

I’ll put up a video asap– Mulaney actually said ‘wop’– which I can’t believe. He’s a smart, sensitive guy. What a disappointment. Whoever wrote the closed captions stopped, then typed in “debacle.”

Don’t Buy The BS About Beyonce’s Tour — It’s 94% Sold Out, with 1.3 Mil Tickets Spread Over 30 Shows

0

Readers of this site know I write regularly about concert tours that haven’t sold tickets.

At today’s prices, and with a shaky economy, it’s a common occurrence.

I heard today that Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter tour was in trouble, that the stadiums and arenas were crying poor.

So I looked into it, and, no none of this is true. Too bad! We love a big negative story!

But sources in the touring business tell me that Beyonce has sold 94% over 30 shows, with multiple dates in big cities like six in London, five each in Los Angeles and New York, plus Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, and Washington DC.

Total sales so far: 1.3 million tickets.

It’s actually not even possible that Beyonce wouldn’t do well on the road no matter what the tickets cost. She’s had a hit, Grammy award winning album, lots of hit singles, and a very devoted following of fans.

Plus, Beyonce is known for putting on spectacular shows.

So don’t cry for Ms. Knowles!

En Vogue Singer Dawn Robinson Says She’s Been Living in Her Car for 3 Years –Why? She Gets No Royalties

0

R&B group En Vogue had HUGE hits in the 90s– “Give Him Something He Can Feel,” “Never Gonna Get It,” “Free Your Mind,” “My Lovin’,” etc.

They were on MTV all the time and sold lots of records.

Nevertheless singer Dawn Robinson says she’s been living in her car the last three years.

Why? She didn’t write their hits. Other people did. And royalties are not paid to performers for radio broadcast. Everything you hear on the radio is basically, free. Only writers of the songs and publishers get paid. The people who sang or played on the records get NOTHING.

For decades there have been efforts to pass a performer’s royalty bill through Congress. But big Radio, companies like I Heart Radio, Cumulus, Radio One, and so on, fight and lobby to keep it from happening.

There are commercials on Big Radio all day from the National Association of Broadcasters to keep a performers royalty from happening. They don’t care if performers are living in their cars, or have bills that need to be paid. It’s disgusting.

Robinson should reach out to Musicares for help if she hasn’t already. If anyone knows her, tell her to email me at showbiz411@gmail.com. There’s a lot of money on the table. This is the reason older acts like Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, and others keep touring. That’s where the money is.

Dawn should also apply to the Rhythm and Blues Foundation. They have funds expressly for this kind of thing.

Exclusive: Steak ‘n Shake Owner Wealthy Trump Backer Who Endorsed Him in Lavish Magazine Editorial

0

EXCLUSIVE What the heck were Robert Kennedy Jr and Sean Hannity doing in a Steak ‘n Shake?

You really think they care about french fries cooked in beef tallow?

No.

And you think Steak n Shake has better fries than Shake Shack? Or even McDonald’s?

No.

So I can tell you that Steak ‘n Shake is owned by Iranian-American rich guy Sandar Bilgari, a big Trump backer and donor who also gave $25,000 to reviled and wheelchaired Texas Governor Greg Abbott last year.

Bilgari owns a lot of big oil businesses from his headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

He also — believe it or not — bought men’s magazine Maxim, made himself editor, and endorsed Trump (like who asked Maxim anyway), to every readers’ surprise. They hilariously likened Trump to James Bond, giving him a better time than Stormy Daniels!

According to Wikipedia, Biglari controls the Steak ‘n Shake Company, First Guard Insurance, Abraxas Petroleum, Southern Oil of Louisiana, Southern Pioneer Insurance and the Western Sizzlin’ corporation, which are subsidiaries of Biglari Holdings. Biglari is also founder, chairman and CEO of Biglari Capital, the general partner to The Lion Fund.

His other holdings include Cracker Barrel, which is so popular in Southern and red states. A cheesy company, they’re the bulk of Trump’s hootenanny base. (They think Cracker Barrel makes good cheese!)

So it was not a health call down to Steak n Shake. It was a payback for Sandar’s loyalty.

Sandar, by the way, was born in Tehran. His folks were close pals with the Shah and his family.

So it’s all a Fox News sanctioned phony, of course. Tallow is a fat, and Trump soaks in it. So does RFK Jr.

“White Lotus” Episode 3 Up to 677,000 HBO Viewers After Oscar Week Drop, Bradley Cooper Gets “Righteous”

0

“The White Lotus” jumped back in the ratings this past Sunday.

Total viewers on HBO were 677,000. HBO says the total total with Max and myriad devices was 3.4 million. Okay, maybe, but that can’t be verified.

The prior week was down to 507,000. But that may have been because of the Oscars.

The rise could also have to do with Jason Isaacs’ moment of exposition. We’ll need the Men in Black Neuralyzer for that one!

Coming this week and next is stuff that should either send the ratings way up, or be a turn off. In this culture, probably the former and not the latter.

Tune in for an Oscar winning actor to make a cameo. When you see who it is, you’ll understand why they were in Thailand.

Meantime, we wait for numbers on Sunday’s episode of “The Righteous Gemstones,” which featured Bradley Cooper in a surprise performance. The show has never been great, but Cooper was so beyond their usual presentation he will get an Emmy nom and maybe a win. So, there!

“American Idol” Faces Carrie Underwood Crisis: Drops Whopping 18% Among Younger Viewers In Season Return

0

“American Idol” viewers have been on the warpath ever since January 20th.

That’s when Carrie Underwood sang for Donald Trump at the presidential Inauguration. Fans were incensed. How could she support the small handed megalomaniac?

On social media, “American Idol” loyalists declared they would not watch the new season in which Underwood serves as a judge succeeding Katy Perry.

It turns out they really meant it.

Sunday night’s show — the official season debut — was down 18.18% in the key demo, ages 18 to 49.

In total viewers, the show was down 2.73% to 4.5 million.

That number was down substantially from the previous season’s last five episodes. It was also down from last season’s debut.

What happens next? For better or worse, Underwood is now associated with Trump for generations to come. His own numbers are sliding as he destroys the economy. Will that affect “Idol” in the coming weeks?

The show may need a tuning up. Stay, uh, tuned…

The Beat Goes On: Are Singer Selena Gomez and Producer Benny Blanco The New, Improved Sonny and Cher?

0

When actress singer Selena Gomez and record producer Benny Blanco first got together, it seemed sweet.

Maybe she’d found someone with a big career independent of hers. A happy ending beamed in distance.

But now they’ve gone so public, it’s out of control. They’ve actually turned into a modern Sonny and Cher.

He’s the straight man, she wisecracks.

She has the solid acting career in addition to making records.

And they’ve started making records together. They’ve got a second single coming on Thursday night, and an album in two weeks!

They’ve got a marketing plan on social media! See below.

What’s next? A summer variety show? Benny as the killer on “Only Murders in the Building”? They could be the new Camilla and Shawn!

(They’re nice people, but this does have a weird vibe.)

And the beat goes on.

Ratings: Lady Gaga Solo “SNL” Falls Short of Timothee Chalamet Two Weeks Earlier But She’s Not a Complete Unknown

0

Lady Gaga’s amazing music performances on “Saturday Night Live” last week were not the ratings giant I imagined.

Her score of 4.63 million viewers during her solo outing fell short of Timothee Chalamet’s two weeks earlier by about 300,000.

Still she’s not a complete unknown.

Lady Gaga has sold millions of records since Saturday night, so still she wins the contest. Timmy lost the Oscar, you see.

Gaga’s “SNL” ratings put her in the middle of the pack of all the series’ shows this season. “SNL” fields some version of 4 to almost 5 million viewers every week.

The biggest episode of season 50 was back in November featuring John Mulaney and Chappell Roan. Paul Mescal and Shaboozey were the lowest, under 4 million, as “Gladiator II” was a bust and the performer has just the one novelty song.

Meantime, what’s the story with Wayne and Garth? Afted appearing in most of the pre-SNL 50 episodes this season, Dana Carvey didn’t show up for the special. There was no “Wayne’s World” moment. Mike Myers came in for “Coffee Talk” only.

Now the special has passed, Carvey is gone, and Myers is playing Elon Musk (hilariously) since then. Can these former partners not be in the same room anymore?

“No way!”

“Way!”

Very perplexing.
