Fox News Internal War: Website Ignores Scoop from National Security Correspondent that Trump Anti-Military Story is True

0

Fox News is having an internal civil war. It’s a battle for the truth and not alternative facts.

Jennifer Griffin, 51, a Harvard graduate, has been with the network since 1999. That’s 21 years of reporting as National Security Correspondent. Roger Ailes hired her in the era before he lost his mind and started harassing women. This was when he was only interested in journalists who had the right stuff.

Yesterday Griffin scored the scoop of a lifetime by working her sources. She posted to Twitter a series of posts confirming the reporting in The Atlantic magazine by Jeffrey Goldberg that Donald Trump thinks the military is full of “suckers” and “losers.”

Griffin appeared once on air on Fox News with anchor Jon Scott, and then not again. Her story was not repeated, and it’s never made it to the Fox News website. She’s being muffled from inside. I know what that’s like, when the forces of evil block the truth at Fox News. It used to happen regularly under John Moody, the crazy right wing chief of news in those days. (He was eventually decommissioned after posting a racist editorial.)

I’ve written to the editorial forces at Foxnews.com but no one has responded. They are like Pravda, the old Russian propaganda news service. No one is allowed to comment.

After Griffin wrote her pieces, Donald Trump Tweeted that she should be fired. That prompted a defense from Fox News’s Brett Baier.

Griffin wrote:

“Two former sr Trump admin officials confirm .

@JeffreyGoldberg reporting that President Trump disparaged veterans and did not want to drive to honor American war dead at Aisne-Marne Cemetery outside Paris.”
and
“According to one former senior Trump administration official: “When the President spoke about the Vietnam War, he said, ‘It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker’.””
and
This former official heard the President say about American veterans: “What’s in it for them? They don’t make any money.” Source: “It was a character flaw of the President. He could not understand why someone would die for their country, not worth it.”
and
Regarding Trump’s July 4th military parade, during a planning session at the White House after seeing the Bastille Day parade in 2017, the President said regarding the inclusion of “wounded guys” “that’s not a good look” “Americans don’t like that,” source confirms.
Among other things. You can only imagine what’s going on internally now. Griffin went around them, thank goodness, to get the word out. After 21 years, she knows how this operation works. Clearly Fox News was never going to allow her a proper forum. One appearance with Jon Scott (who is a company soldier) was not going to get her news out. She was smart to Tweet. But now we may never  hear from her again.

Fox News: “When the President spoke about the Vietnam War, he said, ‘It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker’.”

More from Fox News’s Jennifer Griffin, confirming Jeffrey Goldberg’s smashing story in the Atlantic:

“When the President spoke about the Vietnam War, he said, ‘It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker’.”

So far, Fox News on TV and online has not featured their own reporting. It must be wild over there. Griffin has split open the story. What family with a military connection can vote for Trump now?

Shocker: Fox News’s Jennifer Griffin Confirms Atlantic Magazine Story about Trump Disdain for Military and McCain

0

Fox News National Correspondent Jennifer Griffin says she has confirmed with two sources the gist of the Atlantic magazine story about Donald Trump’s disdain of the military and John McCain.

For Fox News to go with this, Griffin– through her superiors — has the implicit approval of Rupert Murdoch to take Trump down. Trump will be livid that Fox News has confirmed Jeffrey Goldberg’s excellent reporting.

Griffin: “Two former sr Trump admin officials confirm .@JeffreyGoldberg
reporting that President Trump disparaged veterans and did not want to drive to honor American war dead at Aisne-Marne Cemetery outside Paris.”

Griffin writes on Twitter: Regarding McCain, “The President just hated John McCain. He always asked, ‘Why do you see him as a hero?” Two sources confirmed the President did not want flags lowered but others in the White House ordered them at half mast. There was a stand off and then the President relented.”

also:
Regarding Trump’s July 4th military parade, during a planning session at the White House after seeing the Bastille Day parade in 2017, the President said regarding the inclusion of “wounded guys” “that’s not a good look” “Americans don’t like that,” source confirms.

Red Flags as Anna Faris Is Out at Allison Janney TV Show “Mom” Just Before Season 8 Begins

0

Allison Janney is going to be left as a “Mom” without a child. Anna Faris is splitting from the CBS sitcom minutes before the 8th season starts shooting.

What? This was certainly not planned in the spring when season 7 ended and the show was renewed. Faris is not in any kind of demand for movie roles, so this makes no sense and all explanations are not to be believed.

Something is wrong, folks. There is concern about Faris’s health. She’s been dogged for years about rumors of possible anorexia. She’s even posted pictures to Instagram that the tabloids raced to call “scary skinny.” She’s lamented on her podcast of being labeled as ‘too thin’ but this abrupt exit from a show where she was being paid a handsome salary with incentives to stay for many seasons is a red flag.

Faris posted a photo to Instagram from a chat with actress Ellie Kemper from four days ago that should really get people wondering what’s wrong. Faris looks sick, I’m sorry.

How can you have a show called “Mom” without a kid, albeit a grown one? The show will now have to be called “Grand Mom.” Or Ashton Kutcher can be cast as her character.

Here are the official statements:

“The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career,” Faris said in a statement. “I’m so thankful to Chuck [Lorre], the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience. While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family.”

WBTV, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions offered their own joint statement on Faris’ departure: “From the inception of Mom, Anna was the first and only choice for the role of Christy. We are so proud of the stories we have been able to tell during Anna’s seven years with us. We wish Anna all the best, and we thank her for her beautiful portrayal.”

Review: “Mulan” Rouge Faced as Live Action Remake of Disney Classic Cartoon Lacks Warmth and Depth

0

“Mulan,” the live action remake of the original animated feature — for all it’s anticipated majestic opening — falls short especially considering its production budget of $200 million. It’s also the most expensive film ever made by a female director, Niki Caro.

“Mulan” drops on Disney Plus today because most theaters are closed and parents aren’t keen on taking their kids to potential COVID spreading boxes. But you’ll have to pay an extra 30 bucks over the Disney Plus subscription to watch it. Unlike “Hamilton,” this is one Disney Plus selection that needs a financial boost.

With all that said, the film is a major disappointment. We all know the story: the young Chinese woman, Mulan, wanting to be a respected warrior has to dress like a man to fool her fellow soldiers, Luckily she has magical powers. It’s like “Yentl” if she could fly.

The problem is that it’s just that, a straightforward telling of the story with no humor, jo,y real action or any emotional connection to the characters at all. The characters are cold and unwelcomingwith little sensitivity to anything, including animals and people.

No one can say “Mulan” doesn’t look good. Mandy Walker’s cinematography fills in a lot of blanks. The whole production is top notch, especially the battle scenes. But in the end there is no feeling, no poignancy, or warmth. The title song, Christina Aguilera’s “Reflection,” is as unmemorable as the misguided “Mulan.”

Actor Robert Pattinson Star of “Tenet” Tests Positive for COVID-19, Shuts Down Production on “The Batman”

0

Robert Pattinson is no vampire after all. He’s human.

The co-star of “Tenet,” opening tomorrow, has tested positive for COVID 19. The result is that production on “The Batman,” Matt Reeves’ new caped crusader movie, has shut down.

Each are Warner Bros. movies.

“Tenet” — which I reviewed on Monday– was postponed many times because theaters aren’t open everywhere. As it is, “Tenet” will not play in New York, New Jersey. California and parts of many states. It cost upwards of $200 million to make and has already earned around $53 million around the world.

Warner Bros. will only say: “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”

Well, Warner’s can use this as a publicity hook: If only Robert Pattinson really could go back in time, he could stop himself from getting infected!

First Ever Nielsen Chart of Streaming Shows People Watch Netflix for Reruns of Old Network, Cable Favorites

0

Nielsen has released its first ever chart for what’s popular on subscription based streaming television. And the top 10 reveals something interesting. Other than the #1 show, “The Umbrella Academy,” which is original, fans watch Netflix reruns of old network and cable favorites.

Numbers 2- 10 are all old shows: “Shameless” and “Dexter” came from Showtime, “Grey’s Anatomy” from ABC, “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” from NBC, “NCIS” and “Criminal Minds” from CBS, “Supernatural” and “In the Dark” from the CW.

Where are all the great original shows produced for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc?

This list shows the number of episodes available and millions of minutes viewed:

The Umbrella Academy (20, 3,011)
Shameless (120, 1,125)
Grey’s Anatomy (361, 918)
The Office (192, 897)
Criminal Minds (277, 697)
NCIS (353, 524)
In the Dark (26, 418)
Dexter (96, 316)
Supernatural (321, 315)
Parks and Recreation (121, 304)

It makes you wonder how few people are watching all those other shows like “The Crown,” “Mrs. Maisel,” and so on. Is it no wonder the Emmy Awards have such low ratings?

Francis Ford Coppola Tries to Save Much Maligned “The Godfather Part III” with a New Directors Cut and Re-release

0

“The Godfather Part III” is not a great movie. Compared to its predecessors…well, I remember that screening and it wasn’t good. The movie was all over the place, a lot of the performances were uncontrolled, and a very novice Sofia Coppola, stepping in for Winona Ryder, was in over her head.

Now Francis Ford Coppola will try to save the legacy of this maligned film with a directors cut and a new title. Called “The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone,” the film will be given a limited theatrical release in December, marking the 30th anniversary of the film’s release. It will then go to digital home entertainment platforms.

“‘Mario Puzo’s The Godfather, Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone’ is an acknowledgement of Mario’s and my preferred title and our original intentions for what became ‘The Godfather: Part III,’” Coppola said in a statement. “For this version of the finale, I created a new beginning and ending, and rearranged some scenes, shots, and music cues. With these changes and the restored footage and sound, to me, it is a more appropriate conclusion to ‘The Godfather’ and ‘The Godfather: Part II’ and I’m thankful to Jim Gianopulos and Paramount for allowing me to revisit it.”

Will it work? I don’t know. At the time of shooting, stars Al Pacino and Diane Keaton were not speaking to each other. They’d lived together for a few years and were a tight couple until Keaton discovered that Pacino was the father of a baby born to a woman who worked in his office. She was livid. You can feel the ice on screen. (Ironically, that child is the now almost 30 year old talented budding film director and producer Julie Pacino.)

Since “The Godfather” and its sequel are, I think, the best contemporary movies made and rank with “Citizen Kane,” I’m rooting for “Part III” to find its footing. December is now a month I’m looking forward to.

NY Film Festival Poster by John Waters Features Four Living Male Directors and One Woman– Agnes Varda– Who Is Dead

0

Director John Waters designed the 2020 New York Film Festival poster, based on old rock and roll and R&B show posters and notices for boxing matches. It’s whimsical and fun, of course.

The poster features four living male directors and one only woman– Agnes Varda– who is dead. Next to her picture the poster reads: “We have women, too!” Well, not exactly. Agnes, who we adored, will not be attending, even virtually. Were there no living women that could be featured?

The four men are Martin Scorsese, Pedro Almodovar, Barry Jenkins, and Jean Luc Godard, who is a robust 89 years old.

Trailer for James Bond “No Time to Die” Drops in Advance of November 20 Opening, Whether or Not Theaters Are Open

0

The final trailer for the James Bond movie “No Time to Die” is here. The movie drops November 20th whether or not theaters are open in significant parts of the U.S. Since Donald Trump is promising a vaccine on November 1st, I guess everyone will be cured and all will be right with the world by the 20th of that month.

And I have some land to sell you in Kenosha.

But seriously folks. Let’s say nothing has changed by November 20th. No theaters open in New York, California, New Jersey, etc. Drive-ins are chilly by October 1st at the latest. People will really be joking about “no time to die.” I’m not sure how this will work.

But here’s the trailer, and it looks good. Interesting that they don’t use the Billie Eilish song in the trailer considering it’s been out since last February. But it wouldn’t get pulses racing unless they’ve remixed it.
