Biden-Harris Campaign Launches Transition Website on Verge of Winning Electoral College and Presidency

0

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have launched a transition website in anticipation of winning the presidency.

With a url of buildbackbetter.com, the team has a landing page only so far.

The copy reads: “The American people will determine who will serve as the next President of the United States. Votes are still being counted in several states around the country. The crises facing the country are severe — from a pandemic to an economic recession, climate change to racial injustice — and the transition team will continue preparing at full speed so that the Biden-Harris Administration can hit the ground running on Day One.”

We’re looking forward to more pages and sections and even an Inauguration of some kind!

Pop Star Lana del Rey Reveals $350,000 Donation to Native American Charity Derived from Huge Book Advance

0

Lana del Rey is always full of surprises.

The whispery singer-songwriter of smart hits revealed on Instagram today that she has donated $350,000 to a Native American charity. The money went to Dig Deep Water, which describes itself as “a human rights non-profit organization working to ensure that every American has clean, running water…forever.”

del Rey says the money comes from her Simon & Schuster book advance for her recent poetry collection, “Violet Bent Backwards Over the Grass.” That’s quite an advance for a book of poetry!

She writes: “As I’ve been lucky enough to be given an advance from Simon and Schuster, I’m so grateful to be able to spread that money around to foundations that are in need of our help beginning with foundations connected to the Navajo community.
We hope the @digdeepwater project will find relief with the $350,000 that we delivered to them last month.
I personally have always believed in personal reparations to give back to the people who have shaped our land.
I look forward to updating you on the rest of the donations that we make throughout the year.”

No matter what the results of the election just remember we can each as individuals shine brightly and contribute to our world in our own individual way. As I’ve been lucky enough to be given an advance from Simon and Schuster, I’m so grateful to be able to spread that money around to foundations that are in need of our help beginning with foundations connected to the Navajo community. We hope the @digdeepwater project will find relief with the $350,000 that we delivered to them last month. Joe Biden Six Electoral Votes Away from Winning Presidency, Ousting the Country’s Worst President in History

0

I don’t want to jinx it, but we may be on the verge of ousting Donald Trump at last.

At 5pm Eastern, Joe Biden won Michigan. He and Kamala Harris are six electoral points away from 270 and the big prize. Donald Trump, the worst president in US history, will have been defeated.

Only Pennsylvania, Nevada, Georgia, and North Carolina are left, plus Arizona and Arkansas. The majority of uncounted votes are from urban areas where people mailed in their ballots.

The irony is that Fox News is closer to calling the election for Biden than CNN or MSNBC. Fox News is a network divided against itself. The Trump true believers are still spinning, while the actual news people are conceding the truth. It’s wild. (Greg Gutfeld is basically gutless.)

Biden is a gracious man. He gave a short speech this afternoon reminding everyone that he will govern as a president for the whole country, not just Democrats. Frankly, the Trump voters don’t deserve that graciousness.

Exclusive: TMZ Ratings Scandal, as TV Numbers Drop 40% Over 30 Days, Website Traffic in Steep Decline

0

TMZ, the TV show and website, thrive on scandal. But the biggest scandal right now is that the trashy syndicated series has fallen out of favor with fans this season, and its website companion is in trouble, too.

We couldn’t stop TMZ at the airport or outside a restaurant to ask it these questions. Or give it the bad news.

But ratings last week for TMZ Live in syndication dropped 29% from the prior week, down to just 500,000 people tuning in to see some celebrity get ambushed. They were at 900,000 the week of October 6th. That’s a 40% drop.

At the same time, TMZ.com has dropped in its rankings by almost 200 points over the last 90 days according to alexa.com.

But the pandemic may be doing them in. Celebrities aren’t in airports anymore, and they’re not in restaurants. Video paparazzi can’t stalk them around West Hollywood as they once did, or lie in wait at LAX or JFK. So TMZ is just counting on a celebrity dropping dead or least being rushed to the hospital in greater Los Angeles, with EMS drivers getting cash under the table.

Probably no one wants a vaccine more than Harvey Levin. He needs everyone back outside in the wild! Meantime, a 40% fall in the ratings over 90 days is something that producers will have to deal with soon!

Welp! Kanye West Concedes Election After Just 60,000 People Vote For Him, Roughly Same Amount His Albums Sell

Welp! Kanye West conceded the election overnight. He posted a photo of the election map with the word Welp! but then deleted it. We know he voted for himself, it’s unknown if the Kardashians voted for him. Whoever did should seek mental help immediately.

Kanye actually scored 60,000 votes. According to Buzz Angle, Kanye’s last secular album, called “Ye,” has sold a lifetime number of CDs and paid downloads totaling 57,300 copies. So that’s Kanye’s constituency.

Betrayal: Lady Gaga’s Father, Joe Germanotta, Rips Up His Meal Ticket, Tweets Support for Donald Trump

0

UPDATE: Mr. Germanotta has wisely deleted the Tweet. But it lives here.

EARLIER Lady Gaga — Stephanie Germanotta– has vocally supported Joe Biden for President. She made a ton of videos, and performed at his big final rally in Philadelphia.

So what does her father do? On election night he Tweeted support for Donald Trump. Joe Germanotta has basically ripped up his meal ticket. And not just his: Germanotta owns Joanne restaurant on West 70th St, already plagued by bad publicity for a number of reasons. When word spreads, I doubt Upper West Siders will be flocking to his trattoria.

It just goes to show: you can be rich, famous, and supporting the people around you and they will still betray you. Does Gaga need this crap? No. Neither do we. Even if he supported Trump, Germanotta should have kept his trap shut. What a miserable thing to do.

And what’s his excuse? He Tweets: “You may have noticed my political and spiritual beliefs are different. liberty and freedom of choice would not be political.”

In other words, he was born this way. Stupid. If I were Gaga, I’d pull the plug on that restaurant.

Trump Flashback: Whatever Happened with Rapper ASAP Rocky After His Swedish Arrest? Trump Never Mentioned Him Again

0

There are so many wonderful memories of the Trump administration. One of them includes rapper ASAP Rocky. He was arrested in Sweden in the summer of 2019 and jailed after a street fight and assault charge. There was a fear that Rocky would languish in the Swedish prison system. Rakim Mayers was quickly released, in part– Donald Trump said– because the president intervened with the Swedish government. Mayers was later found guilty in the Swedish court (in absentia) and ordered to pay a fine.

This was one of those week long news stories, but it was clear Trump thought he’d buy Mayers’ allegiance, thus ingratiating himself with the black community. It didn’t work out. Rocky returned to the US a free man, and that was the end of it. He certainly has remained silent all of this year as the presidential campaign ensued, even as stupid rappers fell for Trump’s tricks.

Last January 2020, Rocky did speak to the situation on the radio show The Breakfast Club. He said he thanked Trump on the phone and nothing else happened. He made it clear to Trump that he wasn’t coming to the White House or anything else.

Rocky said: “I spoke to [Trump] to thank ’em,” he said. “I was very thankful for what happened, for him supporting me. I don’t agree with all the political shit that he does at all, but like I said, I was just thankful for everybody who supported me in there. Just keeping it 100 with you. Regardless of all the political shit, man, I kept it cordial and very respectful because I was thankful. That was it.”

Rocky does add in the interview that he heard Melania, Trump’s complicit wife, found him “handsome.” The guys joke about Rocky maybe having a shot at her. Joking.

The fun starts at 38:23.

No Mystery: Nicole Kidman-Hugh Grant Sizzling HBO Mini-Series “The Undoing” Jumps 18% in Second Week

0

A lot of people watched “The Undoing” on HBO on Sunday.

The Nicole Kidman-Hugh Grant mini series jumped 18% in its second week, from 676,000 to 799,00 viewers. That’s a big increase from week 1 to week 2, but I’m not surprised. The short form drama is a totally entertaining, captivating watch.

Kidman wisely produced and developed “The Undoing” into a star vehicle for herself. She’s all over every episode, the whole thing rests on the shoulders of her character, Grace.

She was also smart to surround herself with terrific actors. Hugh Grant is dynamite as her philandering rat of a husband– maybe the best in this category since Michael Murphy drove Jill Clayburgh crazy in “An Unmarried Woman.” To that end, “The Undoing” features Clayburgh’s incredibly talented daughter, actress Lily Rabe, who’s finally getting a big screen role after a huge career on the New York stage.

And then there’s Donald Sutherland, who plays Grace’s father as a lion in winter. With his majestic mane, and sonorous voice, Sutherland plays it cagey. How much does he know about the murder of Grant’s mistress (in the film not real life)?

And kudos to Noah Jupe, who plays Kidman and Grant’s wise beyond his years 15 year old son.

The press has seen just 5 episodes of “The Undoing.” The last one we viewed has a gasp! inducing type cliffhanger. We don’t know how it ends. I think we’ll all find out together.

HBO put this together the way they did “The Night Of.” Golden Globes and Emmy Awards are right in their focus, as usual.

5 Time Emmy Winner Candice Bergen Diversifies Her Merch, Starts Selling RBG-Inspired Line of Masks, Fanny Packs, Phone Cases

0

Once upon a time, Candice Bergen had a small business called Bergen Bags, where she decorated handbags for friends. But nothing succeeds like success!

The five time Emmy Award winner of “Murphy Brown” fame (not to mention movies and theater) is branching out. Now she’s got a line of RBG-inspired products on her website,http://www.candicebergenartstuff.com.

Embroidered with a logo that reads “The Notorious” with a drawing of Judge Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s famous lace collar, the products include face masks, phone covers, pouches and fanny packs. There are also pillows and coffee cups.

Bergen has other designs, too, including a signature hot dog featured on fleece blankets.

What’s next? I’m surprised she hasn’t launched a line of Charlie McCarthy designs. Who was Charlie McCarthy? He was her famous ventriloquist father Edgar Bergen’s “dummy.” Bergen wrote in her great memoir “Knock Wood,” that her dad kept a whole room of the puppets, and she thought when she was little they were her brother(s)!

Good for Candy! In these pandemic times, with no movies or TV shooting, you’ve got to pivot!

Did Trump Rally Make Central Florida’s The Villages Sick? 19 New Cases, 11 from Same Town, 1 New Death in Last Day

There’s a problem in The Villages, Central Florida’s oasis of retirees and those living the good life. They are getting sick and dying since Donald Trump’s October 23rd rally.

Today’s report indicates 19 new cases of COVID, 11 from one town, Leesburg. There was one death, an 87 year old man who got sick on October 29th. Five days and he was gone.

Will people of The Villages still vote for Trump? What sense would that make? Are the people of Florida this gullible? I didn’t think so.

Larry D. Croom of the Villages-News.com laid it all out this afternoon:

Nineteen new COVID-19 cases were reported Monday in and around The Villages. Those include:

  • The Villages (Sumter, Lake and Marion counties) up three for a total of 840;
  • Leesburg up 11 for a total of 1,453;
  • Lady Lake up two for a total of 388;
  • Fruitland Park up one for a total of 197;
  • Summerfield up one for a total of 451; and
  • Belleview up one for a total of 401.

Sumter County is now reporting 2,967 cases – an increase of seven from Sunday to Monday – among 1,678 men, 1,263 women, 13 non-residents and 13 people listed as unknown. A total of 209 cases have been reported in long-term care centers and 771 in correctional facilities. There have been 86 deaths and 291 people treated in area hospitals.

Central Florida, wake up before you’re inundated with funerals!
