Justin Bieber: This is Why No One Takes Him Seriously, He’s Promoting Socks with Crocs

Justin Bieber: why does no one take him seriously? He must wonder that, too, when his head isn’t all the way up his own arse.

His latest single, “Hold On,” is a dud, number 21 and falling after a week. His tour isn’t selling. He’s laughable.

And then comes a press release this morning:

JUSTIN BIEBER SOLIDIFIES CROCS AND SOCKS AS MUST-HAVE FASHION PAIRING WITH SECOND COLLABORATION

“Crocs with socks is definitely the move,” said Justin Bieber. “They’re comfortable, they’re fashionable, and most importantly it’s fun to bring your own style to how you wear them. It’s been a blast bringing this latest collaboration with Crocs to life.”

Imagine receiving such an announcement in the 70s from Stevie Wonder or James Taylor. Think of Bono sending this out right before “The Joshua Tree” album.

Songs in the Key of Crocs? Mud Slide Socks?

Justin Bieber is an embarrassment to the music community and to humanity at large.

In sum: “The iconic silhouette comes bundled with a pair of drew house-branded socks, making it official that Crocs and socks are, indeed, better together. The addition elevates the partnership with a cozy vibe that represents Bieber’s style and personality.”

The whole thing is a crock. LOL. At least he’s consistent.

This is just outrageously smart and funny. On Jimmy Kimmel, it seems like Sacha Baron Cohen might be selling vaccines to celebrities. His strung out wife, Isla Fisher, appears to be drinking the vaccines 25 at a time. And, of course, the Hollywood Foreign Press is involved.

Highlights include a call from Kanye West. Cohen says: “I can get you Johnson and Johnson. No, not Dakota and Don.”

Also: “Trust me, no one from the Hollywood Foreign Press is getting COVID any time soon.”

And Tom Cruise calls in: “I thought the Thetans were immune.”

Brilliant.

Geraldo Rivera Says He’s “Pondering Running” for the Senate in Ohio Replacing Retiring Rob Portman

Fox News broadcaster Geraldo Rivera is thinking of a new career.

He Tweeted today that he’s thinking of running for the US Senate from Ohio, taking the place of retiring Rob Portman.

Geraldo would run as a Republican, which would be funny since he was always aligned with liberal causes prior to meeting Roger Ailes.

Rivera has been living in Ohio with his 5th wife, Erica Levy, and their daughter. They married in 2003. He’s 77, she’s 46. He’ll turn 78 in July.

“Jeopardy!” Guest Host Katie Couric Says She’s Delivered Memoir to Publisher: “I hope you f-ing like it”

Katie Couric has turned in her memoir to publisher Little Brown. She announced the moment on Twitter in the video below. She says it’s very “emotional” and adds “I hope you fucking like it.”

Couric is current guest host of “Jeopardy!” and doing a great job, I think. It’s tough to be the first woman host, but Katie always blazes trails.

Her memoir, I hope, will really get into Matt Lauer, Tom Brokaw, her time at CBS hosting the Evening News, all of it. She better not leave anything out. Of course, there will be a lot about losing her sister and husband each to cancer. And starting the whole StandUp4Cancer charity and awareness of colon cancer.

If she just turned the book in, we’ll see it a year from now.

Before he worked with the Beatles, their famed producer George Martin had his own little recording career.

In 1962 he released a instrumental single he composed that was an early experiment in electronic music. The two songs are quite beautiful and full of melodies. Are we surprised? This man was under appreciated genius.

Now dublab is releasing 2 limited editions of the single using the name Martin recorded under, Ray Cathode. Here’s the link. Beatles fans will want one of these things. I know I do!

Monkees in the Mix: Micky Dolenz Releasing Album of Mike Nesmith Songs Including Linda Ronstadt’s “Different Drum”

Two days ago, Micky Dolenz celebrated a birthday. Happy birthday, Micky!

And now we get the news that the once and always Monkee is releasing his first new album in nine years. And all the songs are by his pal of more than 50 years, fellow Monkee Mike Nesmith.

“Dolenz Sings Nesmith” is produced by Mike’s son, Christian, and includes a cover of a song you may not realize Mike wrote: Linda Ronstadt’s “Different Drum.”

The cover, at left, reminds me a little of the famous “Nilsson Sings Newman” album from the 70s when Harry Nilsson had a collection of Randy Newman songs.

Micky confirms it in the album’s press release. He says he got the idea for the album a long time ago. As Micky says “I think I first mentioned it to Nez years ago, I don’t know where the idea came from, maybe from my friend Harry Nilsson and his Nilsson Sings Newman album. I thought to myself, ‘Wow, Dolenz Sings Nesmith’”. The new album, which was recorded between September 2020 and February 2021, features songs written throughout Nesmith’s long career, including many from the critically acclaimed Michael Nesmith & The First National Band albums, as well as a few Monkees deep cuts. And who better to produce the album than Nesmith’s son, Christian Nesmith, who has done an incredible job in coming up with fresh and completely new arrangements for all of the songs.

The album comes to us on May 21st from 7A Records.

Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik is upset he wasn’t nominated for a Grammy Award. He’s so mad that he told them on Twitter to “F” off in so many words. He wrote on Twitter yesterday: “Fuck the grammys and everyone associated. Unless you shake hands and send gifts, there’s no nomination considerations. Next year I’ll send you a basket of confectionary.”

The problem is that eligibility for this Sunday’s Grammys was cut off last September 30th, 2020. Zayn’s album, “Nobody is Listening,” was released two just months ago, in January of THIS YEAR, 2021. So it was months and months late. His prior album, “Icarus Falls,” was released in 2018, two years before this session’s deadline.

Also, both albums sold around 2 copies and were very, very bad.

Seven hours after his first Tweet, Zayn was chastened to follow up with this observation: “My tweet was not personal or about eligibility but was about the need for inclusion and the lack of transparency of the nomination process and the space that creates and allows favoritism, racism, and netwokring [sic] politics to influence the voting process”

Got that? It’s racism and “netwokring” that prevented his nominations. How about making a good album and releasing it on time? That might be the answer.

Poor Zayn. Does he have a manager? Does he take advice from anyone? He seems to be his own worst enemy. No one can be this clueless.

A Real Soap Opera: ABC’s “General Hospital” Kills off an Unpopular Character, But Actor Roger Howarth Will Stay

Franco, a one time rapist and bad guy, is no longer alive on “General Hospital.”

On Tuesday, the ABC soap killed off the unpopular character– unpopular among the show’s other characters as well with fans– by shooting him in the heart. Actor Roger Howarth, who’s played the part since 2013, was seen in a pool of realistic blood.

Immediately Twitter lit up with worries that Howarth, who’s been on ABC soaps since 1993, had been fired.

I immediately checked with a couple of insiders who told me, “He’s coming back as another character.”

Indeed, Howarth told Soap Opera Digest later in the day, that Franco was gone but he wasn’t leaving. He’ll be back after a short break.

He said, “I’m really excited. I have great faith in the people who think of these things. I’ve been in good hands so far.”

Howarth played the character of Todd Manning for years on “One Life to Live.” When that show was cancelled, he moved Manning to “General Hospital.” But then, in a soap twist, ABC sold the online rights to “OLTL” to Prospect Park Productions, and Howarth was recast on “GH” as Franco, a psycho artist originally played by James Franco. (Long story there, not worth retelling.)

But Franco carried a lot of baggage. He’d been a rapist, a scoundrel, plotted someone else’s rape, and was despised by the people of Port Charles. Whoever Howarth returns as has to be more popular, and a relief, I would think, for the actor.

HBO’s “Allen vs. Farrow” Doc Mini Series Continues To Drop in Ratings as Viewers Tune Out One Sided Melodrama

HBO’s “Allen v. Farrow” dropped again in its third week.

The disingenuous, one sided screed against Woody Allen drew 321,000 viewers Sunday at 9pm. Of those people, 40,000 were in the key demo.

That was down from 333,000 the second week, and 50,000 in the key demo.

There’s been a decline in interest every week since the series, made by Kirby Dick and Amy Ziering, began three weeks ago. This week’s episode should show even fewer viewers as it has no revelations or invented facts to present. The fourth episode is just Ronan Farrow crabbing about Woody Allen’s former publicist, and others kvetching about nothing.

Indeed, Dick and Ziering have run out of steam. Since they refused to make a balanced film, or entertain any other ideas, or explore Mia Farrow’s crazy, suicidal, criminal family, they have nothing left to say.

HBO is taking a bath with this series. Just a few months ago, they had Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant pulling a million viewers in for “The Undoing.” Now they’ve squandered this valuable real estate on junk.

The real meanness here is what should be discussed: how Mia Farrow turned Dylan into a professional victim for the rest of her life, how Mia hates Soon Yi enough to try and destroy her as well as Woody, and their college age daughters. Mia has no love for any of these people. She’s just wallowed in spite for almost 30 years.

And before HBO tries to get Polk Awards or whatever for this series, they may want to explain to all those blue ribbon panels how they left out of the discussion Ronan Farrow’s deal with them to make documentaries. No transparency.
