Report: Tom Cruise and John Travolta Were Front and Center at Scientology Cult Gala Last Month Clapping for Their Late Leader

0

Tom Cruise and John Travolta are rarely seen together.

They’ve never made a movie with each other. It’s hard to say if they’re even friends.

They have one movie connection: Travolta’s late wife, Kelly Preston, played a nasty girlfriend to Cruise in “Jerry Maguire” 30 years ago.

Of course, the other Cruise-Travolta connection is that they’re the most prominent celebrity cult members in Scientology.

They’ve each given millions of dollars and lots of support to the loony and dangerous “religion.”

Now avid Scientology-exposing journalist Tony Ortega reveals on his Substack that the pair actually sat next to each other last month at a cult rally in Clearwater, Florida. That’s the city where Scientology has a headquarters and is in constantly contentious relationship.

Ortega even got a picture of the two movie stars sitting together.

Each of these guys has had a weird personal full of innuendo and scandal. The details are well known.

Also at this event were washed up celebs like Doug E. Fresh and Jenna Elfman. So was fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff’s controversial father, Dr. David Minkoff, who was involved in the infamous death of cult member Lisa McPherson. Ortega notes the doctor is currently being sued for his involvement in the grisly 2022 death of OT Scientologist Whitney Mills.

Rebecca Minkoff, for any of you carrying her handbags, is also in the group.

Ortega also recognizes Nancy Cartwright of “The Simpsons” fame.

Look at the people laughing and smiling in the photo. They believe in aliens. In fact, they may be inhabited by them already. How do you think Cruise does all those stunts?

“NCIS” Huge Mistake: Show Lost 500,000 Viewers By Killing off Rocky Carroll Character Director Leon Vance After 18 Seasons

0

“NCIS” made a huge mistake last week, and now they’re paying for it.

The long running procedural killed off character Leon Vance, who ran the NCIS and was beloved.

Producers let go actor Rocky Carroll for no reason other than budget. They said it was to celebrate the 500th episode with a bang.

They were wrong, of course. Grossly. This past Tuesday’s follow up episode dropped by 500,000 viewers. Total viewing was off by 9.32%. Even worse, in the key demo, viewership fell by a whopping almost 23%.

The viewers have voted, especially the ones between 18 and 49. They were disgusted, and did not return to see what happened next. Black viewers may have left since Carroll was the ONLY Black actor on the show.

The drop in total viewers was the largest so far this season.

Carroll can take some solace that the show’s fans were sorry to see him go. After 23 seasons, “NCIS” is down to just one original actor, Sean Murray, who plays McGee. All the others who made the show a hit — from Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette to David McCallum, et al — are gone.

It remains to be seen if the ratings will continue to drop between now and the show’s May finale. It’s been renewed already for another season.

KPop BTS Set to Vanquish Kanye West on Album Charts as Ye’s Anemic Physical Sales Pale — Hitler Loving Rapper Has Small Following

0

Here’s the reality of Kanye West: few people are actually buying his “Bully” album.

Hitsdailydouble.com predicts that “Bully” will be vanquished by “Arirang,” from KPop group BTS tomorrow, which will sell 170K copies to Kanye West’s 107K.

The two albums are a study in opposites. BTS is mostly downloads and CDs, LPs. Ye, an avowed antisemite, is getting his sales through Spotify and Apple Music — which is also distributing the album through Gamma Records.

Few fans want music from the man who recorded “Heil Hitler” just a year ago to turn up in their music collections.

On the iTunes top 100, West has two tracks, each far from the top 20. Also, that 117K projected total for “Bully” is 60% lower than Gamma was touting a few days ago.

Last night Kanye debuted “Bully” on the first night of Passover at SoFi Stadium because he’s a Hitler loving, Jew hating ass who was kicked to the curb by Adidas, The Gap, Balenciaga and other businesses.

The only corporations who want to be in business with him are Apple, and Pepsi. The latter is sponsoring his three day appearance this summer at the Wireless Music Festival in London. But that may not happen since forces in England may stop it. I hope they win.

Tonight Kanye returns to SoFi for a second show, which many have pointed out copies a Lady Gaga tour from 2011. “Bully” is also unoriginal, a pastiche of dozens of old songs sewn together. West has also been accused of using AI.

The press’s interest in all this is sad. Both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have pushed clips from last night’s show on social media as if it was important. As Kanye once said, “Slavery is a choice.” The media and fans that are “slaves” to Kanye West should really be examined for their judgement skills. This guy is a con man who’s getting the last laugh in a Trump slanted world.

We can only hope Gamma is left on the hook in this deal. They deserve it.

Blake Lively Suffers Huge Defeat in Justin Baldoni Case, Judge Tosses 10 out of 13 Claims Including Sexual Harassment, Defamation, Conspiracy

0

It almost ends with this.

Blake Lively has lost most of her case against Justin Baldoni in case over the movie “It Ends with Us.”

Judge Louis Liman (brother of director Doug Liman) tossed 10 of Lively’s 13 claims including sexual harassment, defamation, and conspiracy.

The judge allowed just three components to go forward: breach of contract, retaliation and aiding and abetting in retaliation.

Lively alleged that Baldoni, the director and co-star, sexually harassed her on set by making untoward comments about her appearance and weight.

The sexual harassment part, which Lively turned into a crusade to destroy Baldoni, was thrown out because the filming took place in New Jersey and the case was filed in California. That seems like an amazing mistake since Lively has the resources to hire the best lawyers in the world thanks to husband Ryan Reynolds.

There’s a trial set for May to cover the three remaining items. But it would be best for Lively to settle with Baldoni and this legal nightmare. It’s done nothing to help her Reynolds, who was accused of taking control of the movie during the shoot. Millions of dollars have been spent on nothing but tarnishing their reputations.

Meantime, Baldoni owns the rights to the sequel, “It Starts with Us,” also by Colleen Hoover. He can either make it — presumably without Lively — or sell it to someone else for a lot of money. He’s in what we used to call “the cat bird seat.”

Boffo Box Office! Animated “Super Mario Galaxy Movie” Opens with Record Breaking $34.5 Million Despite Terrible Reviews

0

My gosh.

Out of nowhere, in the middle of a week, a record has been broken.

Universal’s “Super Mario Galaxy Movie” made a stunning $34.5 million in one day.

The animated movie, based on the video game, made more money yesterday, than almost all of this year’s Oscar movies.

The movie is voiced by Glenn Powell. Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor Joy, Jack Black, Brie Larson and a host of stars. This is despite being panned — 43% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise. Three years ago, “Super Mario Bros. Movie” opened with $31.7 million.

Clearly, Super Mario is a bigger star than any human.

The 2023 movie finished with $1.3 billion worldwide, so Universal chief Donna Langley obviously knows what she’s doing — as usual!

What’s the movie about? About 90 minutes, that’s what.

Actually, it looks like fun for kids.

Watch for more records to be broken!

Daniel Day Lewis Family: Son Gets Married This Week in Miami, But Kid’s Famed Actress Mother Appealing Fraud Conviction in France (Exclusive)

0

EXCLUSIVE It’s a good news, bad news situation for Daniel Day Lewis.

The three time Oscar winner will see his son get married this weekend in Miami. But the kid’s mom, French actress Isabelle Adjani, might not be there. She’s on trial in a Paris appeals court fighting a tax fraud conviction that could send her to jail. In 2023, she was hit with a $250K fine and a two year prison suspended sentence. (See details below.)

We’re waiting for the verdict. She may go to prison, which would be a first for an ex girlfriend of Warren Beatty!

Meantime, DDL and Adjani’s son, Gabriel Kane, gets hitched this weekend in Miami to Irena Dimitrova. They already have a son named Phoenix. Which makes DDL a grandfather.

According to their very public website, the couple met as teachers at Sunflower Creative Arts in Del Ray Beach, Florida. Kane proposed last July in Big Sky, Montana. I’m actually surprised there is such a website considering that DDL is extremely private. But there are photos, information, and a registry. They’re raising money for an 8-Day Alaska Inside Passage Explorer & Glacier Bay cruise. Sweet, but couldn’t dad give them a gift?

The wedding party lists bridesmaids and groomsmen. None of the latter will be Gabriel’s two half brothers through DDL and Rebecca Miller, however.

As for Adjani, a five time Cesar (French Oscar) winner, what got her into this mess? Screen Daily reported in 2023: Adjani has consistently maintained her innocence in the face of charges that include evading taxes on a €2m gift by presenting it as a loan, and also of having pretended to live in Portugal for two years, rather than at her actual home in France.

Good luck to the happy couple!

John Travolta Directing Debut At Desperate Cannes Film Festival Co-Stars Daughter Ella Bleu Before Apple TV Showing: Against Policy?

0

I hate to say Cannes is desperate but this really isn’t good.

They’re going to give a premiere for a John Travolta-directed movie which is going to Apple TV on May 29th.

Doesn’t this break the rule that no streaming films can debut at Cannes?

The movie is called “Propeller One-Way Night Coach,” and it’s based on a book that Travolta apparently wrote in 1997. It will be shown in the Cannes Premiere section, not the main competition. In the cast is Travolta’s daughter Ella Bleu.

Is there a Scientology aspect? Probably. Two of the cast members seem to come from Scientology families. The kid who plays Travolta has the same last name as a photographer who took pictures of ex-Scientologist Leah Remini. His mother is played by someone whose last name is in the Scientology files. They aren’t common last names, either

No producer credits yet, but that will unravel with time.

Travolta has only appeared in a string of terrible movies for the last 30 years. They include the really miserable, “Gotti,” which was also shown in Cannes before it was encased in cement and sent to the bottom of the river. Maybe he can surprise us, though.

For Cannes, this is scraping the bottom.

Jealous Donald Trump, After Incoherent Speech, Calls Bruce Springsteen “Bad and Boring, Total Loser” in Early Morning Rant

Donald Trump’s jealousy over Bruce Springsteen continues to sting him.

This morning he ranted against the superstar rock star, calling Bruce “bad and boring.”

LOL.

This was the morning after Trump’s incoherent, rambling, repetetive speech last night in which he said absolutely nothing of substance. You could have made a drinking game for the line “No one has ever seen anything like it before” — that’s how many times he said it.

Springsteen attacked Trump on stage in Minneapolis two nights ago, rightly calling him racist, reckless, and incompetent. It was a thrilling moment in political and music history.

Trump’s response?
“Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS. The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America. Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD, and now we have the “hottest” Country, by far, anywhere in the World. MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!! President DJT”

The Michael Jackson Movie’s Success Will Depend Entirely on Reviews As So Far Pre-Sales Aren’t a Thriller

0

The Michael Jackson fans online, a dedicated and persistent group, are very excited.

They see online that special screenings set for Wednesday, April 22nd are sold very well and almost sold out. They think that indicates a massive box office hit for Lions Gate, which is releasing the film.

Unfortunately, they’re not looking at the real preview night of Thursday, April 23rd or opening day of Friday, April 24th — or subsequent days.

Just looking at AMC Lincoln Square in New York, those dates are far from sold out. The good news is that on the Thursday, “Michael” is well sold at the 7:30pm IMAX screening. But other shows, in the regular and Dolby Theaters, are a little meh.

At Lincoln Square, the Dolby Theater — which is where I’d like to see “Michael” for the sound — is wide open at every hour.

This scenario is much the same Friday night, as well. IMAX in good shape, everything else quite iffy.

Things are much the same for April 23rd at The Grove in Los Angeles. The prime time showings are totally open. Same at The Grove for Friday as in New York.

IMAX seems to be the best for Antoine Fuqua’s musical film. But it also feels like reviews and word of mouth are vital for this movie’s success.

A couple of things out in the public are hovering over “Michael.” First, the headlines about Michael’s daughter, Paris, suing the Estate. The details are unimportant to the moviegoing audience, but it’s a negative. There are also the posthumous sexual malfeasance accusations against Michael by the family he was close with during his life. The Cascios always defended him. Now they’re trying to get a chunk of cash from his legacy.

Smartly, “Michael” seems like it ends in 1990, just like the successful “MJ” Broadway show. Jackson is on a high from an amazing decade of “Off the Wall,” “Thriller,” and “Bad.” This is because things get weird after that, and by 1993 he’s embroiled in scandals that last til the end of his life in 2009. (A sequel is ill-advised.)

Again, the only way around the darker elements is to create a real buzz beyond Jackson’s dedicated serious fans.

But with that incredible catalog of hits, and the dazzling re-enactments of Michael Jackson singing and dancing — from his nephew Jaafar Jackson — there’s a good chance that “Michael” will be starting something.

First Paul McCartney Announces New Album, Now The Rolling Stones Circle April 11th for Their Own, Call Themselves “The Cockroaches”

0

The Rolling Stones always had a good sense of humor.

They’re the world’s oldest, longest running band. More than 60 years and still kicking.

Like cockroaches, they never die. That’s why their album announcement set for April 11th is at thecockroaches.com.

A spring with both Stones and McCartney albums! Total ages 1 million. Who cares?

Andrew Watt, man of the hour, produced both albums. He knows what to do with these legends!

The last Stones album, Hackney Diamonds, won a Grammy. It was a huge success!

I’m excited that as classic rock fades, the Stones and the Beatles — Ringo has an album, too — are the ones closing the doors.

Viva the Stones!
