Trump Hosted Private “Melania” White House Premiere with Orchestra, Hasn’t Commented on Newest ICE Murder in Minneapolis

0

Donald Trump hosted a secret movie premiere last night at the White House.

This was despite Trump having destroyed the White House movie theater when he demolished the East Wing for his $400 million ballroom.

The event was for “Melania,” the $40 million infomercial directed by Brett Ratner, which opens this Friday to mostly empty theaters.

Meantime, the violence and protests in Minneapolis are at an all time high after ICE murdered Alex Pretti, a medical ICU nurse who was trying to help a woman caught in their crosshairs.

Trump has not addressed the killing, but his thugs are calling Pretti, a cyclist who is mourned by family and friends, ridiculously as a “domestic terrorist.”

Trump even laid on an orchestra to play the theme music for “Melania” composed by pariah Tony Neiman.

Among the guests — usual suspects: the now reviled Apple chief Tim Cook. Ratner brought his mother, who is Cuban, despite Cubans being deported from Miami in droves.

The biggest disappointment: photographer Ellen VonUnwerth, who was happy to take Trump’s money to snap Melania for the movie’s poster. Shame on her. She’s “unwerthy.”

And the band played on.

Chris Pratt’s $60 Mil “Mercy” Opens Below Estimates with $11 Mil Weekend, Timothee Chalamet’s “Marty” Remains Supreme

0

The weekend numbers are rough because no one is going to a movie theater today outside of walking to one in a city.

Maybe.

The result is that Chris Pratt’s “Mercy” is coming in below estimates, which were already pretty low.

Total seems to be $11 million. “Mercy” cost $60 million at least. Good night, and good luck.

“Mercy” is an MGM/Amazon release in theaters, so the company is reporting box office. It’s unclear if they’ll do the same next weekend with their “Melania” movie. Few tickets have been sold in advance, as I’ve reported. So far, there are estimates of a $5 mil weekend coming. We’ll see.

Meanwhile, “Marty Supreme” continues to have excellent week to week holds. This week there was a very small 36% drop from last week. Not bad. “Marty” — with Timothee Chalamet in his Oscar nominated role — is up to $86 million, should hit $90 mil in the next week and get near to $100 mil by the middle of March, for the Oscars.

“Wicked: For Good,” with no Oscar noms, will top out now around a respectable $350 million. Not magical, but good enough.

“60 Minutes” Civil War: No New Show Tonight, Repeat of Irrelevant Celeb Interviews from Past Seasons Flags Turmoil, Pressure from Above

0

There will be no new episode of “60 Minutes” tonight.

Instead, the Emmy winning, venerated news program is showing three archived movie star profiles with no relevance to anything current.

The profiled actors are Timothee Chalamet from last year, Jamie Lee Curtis from May 2025, and Kate Winslet from 2024. Only one, Chalamet, is an Oscar nominee this year. But his interview isn’t for “Marty Supreme,” but for last year’s “A Complete Unknown.”

(I was actually assured some time ago that a new Chalamet piece about “Marty Supreme” was coming during this Oscar campaign. That may not be the case now.)

This comes as there’s been another ICE killing in Minnesota, riots and protests in Minneapolis, and a week when Donald Trump was mocked in Davos over his obsession with Greenland. Measles is spreading in South Carolina, as well. Any of these topics would have made for a scintillating new episode tonight.

Clearly, a show that was supposed to air tonight simply has been pulled. Under CBS news shill Bari Weiss and CBS owners David and Larry Ellison, “60 Minutes” is being destroyed, quickly, from within.

There is absolutely no reason why a new show wouldn’t be on tonight. It should be obvious that there is no promo for tonight’s show. (Promos are usually dropped on Thursday or Friday.) And nothing on the “60 Minutes” website page has been updated since last Sunday.

Last week, “60 Minutes” finally aired its censored piece by Sharyn Alfonsi on the CECOT prison in El Salvador. The whole show was up against the NFL, had no football lead in of its own, was disposed of a sop to critics and Alfonsi. The result was one of the lowest rated episodes in years.

Since then, Weiss has made it clear she wants to remove Alfonsi, Bill Whitaker, Scott Pelley, and any of the staff that comes from established and respected “60 Minutes.” As far as Weiss is concerned, they could be replaced by seals. Her goal, her mission, is to undermine the legacy of CBS News.

Weiss has been doing this for three weeks now at the CBS Evening News, which has turned into a circus under new host Tony Dokoupil.

Meanwhile, I’m curious to see what the CBS Sunday Morning piece is today on Shen Yun. I written extensively about this cult that’s tied to the Epoch Times. See below.

The acting CEO of The Epoch Times is on the board of the Kennedy Center under Donald Trump. Coincidence? Nope.

Sundance X-Out Charli XCX Movie Mockumentary About Brat Pop Star on the Road: Panned by Reviewers as “Not Really Satire, Just Chaos”

0

Just a few months ago, Vanity Fair declared pop star Charli XCX as the next queen of Hollywood. They even put her on the cover.

Alas, the singer’s first project promoted from that article has been a bust at the Sundance Film Festival.

“The Moment,” a mockumentary about the singer on tour, has been panned by reviewers on the scene in Park City, Utah.

So far it’s garnered a 62% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Fred Topel of UPI echoed many sentiments when he wrote: “It’s not really satire. It’s just chaos.”

He continued: “The movie is full of stereotypical entertainment industry characters but they don’t combine for funny or clever scenes.”

“The Moment” seems to be an attempt at making an updated “Spinal Tap” except without the wit and wisdom of the late Rob Reiner.

Charli XCX is a successful pop star whose “Brat” album was an out of the box hit two years ago.

But “The Moment” appears to be a miscalculation from studio A24. It will be released on January 30th.

As for Vanity Fair, they know how to pick ’em.

Sundance: Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost Punched in Face by Racist Attacker Crasher at A List Party Thrown by CAA

0

The end of Sundance is near.

Florida Congressman Maxwell Frost, who is Black, said he was assaulted at the Sundance Film Festival thrown by Creative Artists Agency.

“Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face. He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay. Thank you to the venue security and Park City PD for assistance on this incident.”

Frost’s account confirms the report from Park City, Utah police that a man had been punched in the face in the bathroom of a local saloon who shouted he was “glad to be white.”

Of course this was a crasher, not a guest. But it’s one more reason the film festival is pulling up roots from the Utah ski town and heading to the far more hospitable Boulder, Colorado next year. Sundance is the epitome of diversity and tolerance, while Utah has increasingly become a red state that leaves little room for civil rights.

So far, the Salt Lake City Tribune has yet to report an assault on a Congressman. They’ve barely acknowledged the killing of a 37 year old ICU nurse today by ICE agents in Minneapolis.

Chris Pratt Goes Splat: Ex “Jurassic World,” “Guardians of the Galaxy” Star Strikes Out with Panned “Mercy” No Box Office

0

For a while there, Chris Pratt had the world on a string.

He was the star of two huge movie franchises — “Jurassic World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

He was also married to a TV star, Anna Faris, and they had a cute little kid.

But now everything has gone wrong.

Pratt’s new movie, “Mercy,” posted just over $1 million in previews Thursday night. Critics have given it a very low 20% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the audience score is just 81%.

There’s no mercy for “Mercy” since Pratt came out as a hard right religious Bible thumper. He also divorced Faris and married a Kennedy.

“Mercy” looks headed for a less than $10 million opening weekend, especially with bad weather coming. If we have a national blizzard, even Pratt diehard fans will stay home.

Stay tuned…

Opera Great Renee Fleming Cuts the Rest of Her Ties to the Kennedy Center, Bows Out of National Symphony Orchestra Concert

0

Opera great Renée Fleming has cut her last ties to the Kennedy Center.

Fleming has canceled her appearance with the National Symphony Orchestra on May 29 and 30, 2026 at the Kennedy Center

The news turned up on the Kennedy Center’s page for the concert, reading: “Renée Fleming regrets that, due to a scheduling conflict, she must withdraw from her May 2026 concerts with the NSO. A new soloist and repertoire will be announced at a later date, and the remainder of the program remains unchanged.”

Fleming had already stepped down as an advisor to the Kennedy Center almost a year ago after Trump and friends took over the arts center.

Trump and Tricky Dick Grenell have systematically destroyed the Kennedy Center, especially with the illegal renaming of it placing Trump’s name on the front door. There’s an endless list of cancellations by artists too disgusted to perform here. The Washington National Opera has moved out, as well.

So what’s left? Dribs and drabs, non union productions of Broadway shows. mostly nothing. Trump set his sights on wrecking the Kennedy Center the way he has also trashed CBS News. He will leave a legacy of shit for biographers to write about for decades. But at least there will be marble armrests.

“Melania” Movie Promo Oddly References The Wicked Witch of the West Using Her Domed Looking Glass from “The Wizard of Oz”

0

At first I thought the new promo for the “Melania” movie was a tribute to Timothee Chalamet.

Remember when Timmy was standing on top of the Sphere in Las Vegas to promote “Marty Supreme”?

The new “Melania” video starts out like that, using the Sphere as a projection of clips from the upcoming infomercial.

But take a look below. Isn’t it really a sly reference to Margaret Hamilton’s Wicked Witch of the West spying on Oz through her looking glass? Congrats to MGM/Amazon marketing. Very clever!

PS It could also be a gesture to her planet of origin, or her original spaceship. Same as the one that dropped Stephen Miller here…

CBS News PR Straining to Tout New Right Leaning Regime, Headlines Face the Nation Interview with Kristi Noem Received “15 Mil Tik Tok Views”

0

CBS News PR — I mean, their whole world has been turned upside down by the new regime.

To promote their embrace of Trump dog killer Kristi Noem, they actually boasted about the interview having “15 million views on TikTok.”

I think they’re barking up the wrong tree. “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan as usual did her superlative job getting egg on Noem’s heavily made up face. LOL.

Meanwhile, the PR department lost its mind screaming that Monday’s installment of the CBS Evening News brought in 6.8 million viewers — the largest showing since 2021.

They failed to mention that on Monday, ABC’s World News Tonight scored over 10 million viewers — also a high watermark.

And why? For one thing, Trump was threatening to invade Greenland on Monday. Also, more importantly, NBC’s competing news show was pre-empted by dog races or something. There was no show. So NBC News viewers scattered out to try different shows. We’ll see what the rest of this week looked like with order restored.

CBS News Chief Bari Weiss’s Wife Mocks Trump’s “Bored of Peace” $1 Billion Autocrats Club in Takedown Piece, Kushner’s Trump Gaza Map

0

CBS News chief Bari Weiss’s wife, Nellie Owens, isn’t in the tank with Trump after all.

Nellie Bowles openly mocks Trump’s Bored of Peace today in The Free Press, the conservative rag bought by CBS for $150 million to be added to the Ellisons’ pro-Trump agenda.

Good for Nellie. The Bored of Peace, she reveals, is just a $1 billion per membership club for autocrats.

Owens writes: “Does it include Trump golf club memberships? Gift bags? Is it just that you get invited to Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff’s text chain? All we know for sure is that it costs $1 billion for a permanent seat on the Trump Board of Peace, which is just a little less than your average private K–8 school board seat.”

The Pope says he’s thinking over his invitation to join. His spokesman said: “I believe it will be something that requires a bit of time for consideration before giving a response.” (It’s not happening.)

Would the Bored of Peace replace the United Nations? Owens isn’t sure. She says of the venerated organization, “I’m not sure I would replace it with the team behind the Trump Steak of the Month club and such, but no one else is offering.”

I might add: Mayor Mamdani may have other ideas. All that beautiful potential affordable housing on the East Side! Because you know the Bored of Peace HQ will be on a Trump property.

Owens also takes aim at Jared Kushner’s proposed map of Trump Gaza. She writes: “What is this, a clothing website I almost bought something from two years ago?”

If only CBS News were this skeptical.
