It’s going to be t shirts, jeans, and leather jackets at the next Met Ball.

Think “Grease.”

Anna Wintour had to cancel her tribute to convicted antisemite John Galliano earlier this fall when the Metropolitan Museum of Art realized how much pushback they had from donors.

Since the cancellation, there’s been no word about a replacement.

But now the New York Times reports the May 2027 gala will be called “extraOrdinary: Fashion and the Poetics of the Everyday.”

The Times says “Think bluejeans, puffer jackets and white T-shirts — even paper, plastic and Bubble Wrap — reimagined through the lens of high fashion.”

What will happen to all the high end designers and stylists? Will Kim Kardashian be calling The Gap for help?

Andrew Bolton, the Costume Institute’s curator in charge, shares a name with an out of business store that would have love all of this — remember Bolton’s?

Bolton told the Times: “I wanted an exhibition that I felt had something new to say, and that I felt was relevant to different conversations. I committed myself to this really quickly because it brings up ideas of value and consumption and resourcefulness and makes us question what we overlook and what we discard.”

I am trying to picture those actresses and models who emerge from The Mark Hotel shrouded in a box rather than reveal a pair of ripped jeans. Also, for once, the party crashers will have a good shot at getting in.
