The Amazon MGM red carpet premiere for “I PLay Rocky” is going on right now in Manhattan.

The paparazzi are being forced to take pictures of “influencers” — random people from social media whom they’ve flown in for the event. I guess they have a lot of followers.

They will be seated together in the theater, and the ones you hear clapping or laughing in unison.

Was Amazon really this desperate for approval of the movie?

The actors from “I Play Rocky” may wonder what the heck is going on.

They’ll no doubt be delighted to meet Nic Novicki, Katya Tolstova, Brandon Gilpin, Giselle Diaz, et al.

Gilpin is described by AI thusly: “Brandon Gilpin has recently attended several film premieres and screenings in New York City.”

The others have similar biographies. How about “movie director” and content creator Jessenia Gallegos?

Never heard of these people? Listen, they haven’t heard of each other. Gone are the days when actual famous people went to movie premieres. That’s so 2015!

So far the only actual celebrities at the screening are “Karate Kid” Ralph Macchio and “Raging Bull” actress Cathy Moriarity, because tonight is also a tribute to 1980.

An eclectic turn out, to say the least. No sign of Sylvester Stallone or Talia Shire but we’ll keep an eye out!

keep refreshing…
