Rapper Missy Elliot Says Until Tonight Her Mother Never Saw Her Perform in the 26 Years of Her Career

Well, the Rock Hall induction show has ended finally after four hours and 20 minutes.

Producer Joel Gallen saved the best for last — with a plot twist.

Accepting her award in a gold suit and hat, the very cute rapper extraordinaire Missy Elliot made a startling admission from the stage.

“Until tonight,” she said, “my mother has never seen me perform.” You could hear people gasp and see them on TV mouthing “what???”

The reason? Missy didn’t want her mom to hear her X rated lyrics filled with four letter words and maybe coarse concepts about sex and personal hygiene.

But 26 years have passed since Missy burst onto the scene with her first album. How crazy is that? But mom — very elegant — looked thrilled about the whole night and very proud of her daughter. It was worth the wait!
