John Goodman, movie star from the Coen brothers films and TV star from “The Conners,” spoke to Variety this week in Europe.

Goodman never talks, so this is a big deal.

He said of Donald Trump: “I’ve become weary of him. He is so corrosive and it’s just rotten from the inside out.”

That’s a Midwest voice, folks, not Hollywood. Goodman has never ‘gone Hollywood,” trust me.

Reporter Leo Barraclough asks Goodman about working with Roseanne Barr again. He says: “I don’t know. If she’d liked to … I just don’t know. I miss her. I wish her well.”

Goodman says he’s probably too old to be invited back to “Saturday Night Live.” He does love the Coen brothers, with whom he’s made many movies including, of course, The Big Lebowski.”

“They strike a more personal note with me. It’s just their writing is superior and their sense of humor and their vision. And maybe it’s the fact that we are Midwestern transplants to New York. Perhaps it has something to do with it. But I hit it off with them as soon as I met them. We had a grand old time at my audition for ‘Raising Arizona.’ Yeah, I feel like my tickets have run out on the Coen Brothers because I haven’t seen them for so long and haven’t worked with them.”

John Goodman has one, lone Emmy Award from 2007 and not a single Oscar nomination. He’s never campaigned for anything. He deserves a Lifetime Achievement Award from someone, that’s for sure– Emmys or Oscars. He’s never been anything less than brilliant. I just saw him again in “The Artist” as the studio boss. I’d forgotten he was in it, and what a performance! Without speaking!

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too.
