First Promo for Dave Chappelle Hosting “SNL” Strangely Devoid of Nearly All Cast Members

Share

How excited is the cast of “SNL” about Dave Chappelle hosting this weekend?

Not a lot, I’d say.

The first promo for Chappelle’s appearance came on Monday and it was just clips. The second one just dropped and it’s mostly Chappelle with a little bit of Kenan Thompson– wearing a gigantic cross — at the end.

There’s no sign of this week’s musical guests — Black Star — or any of the cast. Usually we’d see Cecily Strong or someone — what about Ego Nwodim? — Alas, no one.

Chappelle is a controversial figure in any situation. But following the elections this week, which beg a sketch about Herschel Walker, who knows what’s going on?

PS Heidi Gardner, who should be at work on Thursday night, tomorrow night, is on stage at New York’s 92nd St Y interviewing former cast member Melissa Villasenor. That may be the hottest ticket of the week.
