Late night TV was booming last night thanks to the Blue Tsunami!
Jimmy Fallon sounded a lot like Johnny Carson in his monologue with his opening line — “President Trump couldn’t do it with the reflecting pool, but last night he turned the whole country blue!” Carson would have appreciated Fallon’s rat-tat-tat delivery. Nicely done!
Jimmy Kimmel is famous for mixing it up with Trump. But Fallon gets his moments, and this one was pretty good.
If only Stephen Colbert had been around to jump in!
Fallon rules the roost on social media. Whenever I turn on my phone, someone is sending this clip. Luckily NBC seems to be supporting him and Seth Meyers. We are the luckier for it!
PS Fallon’s recent parody of Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes with Jamie Lee Curtis, from “You Can See Everything” is a bit of genius. That one’s going in the TV Hall of Fame — uncanny! (See below.)
