The Billy Joel streamroller is here. Last week Madison Square Garden announced Billy’s monthly residency. We jokingly said he’d play 1 show per month until the end of time.

No kidding: Billy just added  8th consecutive monthly show, this one for August 2014. He’s already got sold out shows every month from January through July totally sold out. And mind you, that’s along with a New Years Eve show at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn. I guess the MSG people saw the demand at Barclays and decided to move fast in securing the Piano Man forever.

So I guess now we head to a September date. The shows are being produced with AEG Live (and new chief Jay Marciano who used to run MSG, by the way) and Q104.3FM which still has the best deejays in Jim Kerr, Carole Miller, and Ken Dashow.

PS No, Billy will not be at the Jingle Ball tonight. But he should be! He could teach one of his master classes to all the new pop stars!

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too. They are just another facet of keeping fact based journalism alive.
