Donald Trump and his henchman, Bill Barr, pulled off a Friday night massacre tonight. They ousted US District Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Geoffrey Berman. Berman is a Republican appointed by Trump after Trump dismissed Preet Bharara. But Berman has acted independently. You can only imagine what Trump would do SCOTUS Chief Justice John Roberts if he could.

Berman responded by saying he wouldn’t go without a fight. Berman said in a Tweet: “I learned in a press release from the Attorney General tonight that I was ‘stepping down’ … I have not resigned, and have no intention of resigning … our investigations will move forward without delay or interruption. I cherish every day that I work with the men and women of this Office to pursue justice without fear or favor – and intend to ensure that this Office’s important cases continue unimpeded.”

No, this isn’t our usual beat. But Trump is out of control. You can pick up the story at CNN.com or the New York Times, et al.

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too. They are just another facet of keeping fact based journalism alive.
