Who would know better about hostages than a top Scientologist?

The religious cult has long been cited — in lawsuits, documentaries, and books — for separating family members, and causing individuals to disappear into their sci-fi world.

So now Donald Trump has named his favorite Scientologist, John P. Coale, to be his Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs with the rank of Ambassador.

Coale, 79, is also the husband of conservative news personality Greta van Susteren. She’s a long time Scientologist, too.

According to the site truthaboutscientology.com Coale got into the cult in 1989 to take their drug course. As of 2017, he’s an Operating Thetan VI. This means he can “operate freely outside his body.”

According to Wikipedia, OT is a concept in Scientology referring to a state of spiritual ability in which a person is said to be “cause over life, thought, matter, energy, space and time.”

Trump has used Coale for various jobs since the 1990s.

What will Coale do with hostages once he’s freed them? Maybe send them to one of Scientology’s mother ships where they can become slaves to a dangerous cult leader. Or, force them to watch Tom Cruise’s movie, “Digger,” over and over.

You can’t make this stuff up, even though L. Ron Hubbard did years ago.

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too. They are just another facet of keeping fact based journalism alive.
