Anne Hathaway, heavily pregnant, is on a campaign to conquer Hollywood once and for all!
Hathaway appears in a video today announcing she’s Tom Cruise’s co-star in the unnecessary but inevitable sequel to “Days of Thunder.”
The movie will be released in June 2028.
The Oscar winning actress is currently in two hit box office films, “The Odyssey” and “The End of Oak Street.” She was also featured in “The Devil Wears Prada 2” earlier this spring, and in a horror film called, “Mother Mary.” She’s definitely on the short list for another Oscar, for “The Odyssey.”
Cruise is always smart to surround himself with very talented actors in these mindless movies. He’s hoping “Days of Thunder 2” will end up like up “Top Gun Maverick,” and make a bundle. In the film, Hathaway will play a team owner and engineer of race cars.
Cruise will play NASCAR driver Cole Trickle, who is now 102 years old and trying to win his last race (I’m making this up) after falling out of favor and now considered to be too old to drive a car, much less race one. I just realized the film should be called “Days of Thunder: Trickle Down.”
PS The original “Days of Thunder” featured Nicole Kidman, whom Cruise married and later divorced, and is now a superstar with her own Oscar. She will not appear in this iteration.
Anyway, Hathaway will act circles around everyone, as she does in every movie.
