So, a movie you and I will never see called “Street Fighter” is making a killing.

From Paramount Pictures, “Street Fighter” brought in $13 million total from Thurs previews and Friday showings. Exaggerated violence in a video game setting is always popular with someone. Could be a $30 mil weekend. As Sheryl Crow sings, If it makes you happy…

The big story this weekend is the three hour “You Can See Everything,” which I saw last night and reviewed elsewhere on this page. My 20 bucks contributed to an overall opening of $5.5 million. There’s no popcorn bucket. If there were, it could be marked Theranos, like the failed blood testing device. Or they could have made it like a Thermos, which is the word I think of first as the title.

Amanda Seyfriend really deserves an Oscar nomination. She’s the Marilyn Munster of this movie which is NOT a documentary. Director Nathan Fielder’s insertion of himself as a judgemental narrator and on screen character twists the film into something else. When he starts doing re-enactments with Seyfried, and other actors, “You Can See Everything” becomes a narrative horror film. Which isn’t to say that it’s not very good.

“The Social Reckoning” is so dead that this morning’s box office email from Sony called it “The Social Network.” If only. “Reckoning” made just $450K last night, and will earn $1.55 mil for the weekend. Sony’s going to have to yank it from theaters after this weekend. Like “Digger,” which is also doneso.

Sony is also still including “Spider Man” numbers, which are now down to crumbs. But thank God for Peter Parker, right? That $2 billion makes up for everything else.
