Television Critics Snub Colbert, Nominate Only One Male Performer (Jeremy Allen White) in Comedy

Share

The TCA’s– Television Critics Awards– have snubbed Stephen Colbert for their annual nominations. Colbert wins Emmys, is always nominated for everything, and is often the ratings leader of late night.

Weird. Colbert suffered from the TCAs pitting specials and weekly shows against the nightly shows. Big mistake.

They also chose five women of the six nominees for acting in comedy. These are gender free nominations, which cuts the opportunities in half. Only Jeremy Allen White was nominated in comedy for “The Bear,” a show that is not a comedy.

Go figure.

The big winners were FX and Netflix, with 16 noms each. HBO was third with 13.
