Billie Eilish Brooklyn Listening Party for New Album Attracts At Least 86,000 Requests

This morning Billie Eilish announced listening parties in New York and Los Angeles for her new album.

“Hit Me Hard and Soft” releases on May 17th at midnight. So Billie — and I guess Finneas — will appear in those cities on May 15th and 16th.

The Brooklyn Barclays Center “show” has attracted at least 86,000 requests on Ticketmaster. Somehow, from those requests, offers will be made to fans.

Eilish told Rolling Stone this month that there are no singles coming from the album. Fans will decide what tracks they like the most, and send them onto iTunes, etc. There’s no impact single for radio.

This could be tricky, especially if there is no actual standout single. When artists do this with albums they tend to fade faster. But it’s her decision. Maybe it will change if one song turns out be to a really catchy favorite.

Not included: the siblings’ “What Was I Made For,” which won the Oscar and Grammy and was a big hit.
