Eric Braeden, star of “The Young and the Restless” for 40 years on CBS, says he’s being treated for bladder cancer after a scare with his prostate.
In an emotional video he’s posted to Facebook, Braeden describes what’s been going on with him for the last several weeks. The 13 minute story is compelling even more so because Braeden sounds like he’s other become his character, Victor Newman, or the character was informed by him. Victor Newman is a hubristic billionaire who gets his own way. Braeden, apparently, approached his problem with a similar mood, and the results are a little comical.
None of this should come as a surprise. Back on March 24th, Braeden posted that his surgeon had taken a malignant tumor out of his bladder. He included pictures of himself on a gurney in the hospital.
Braeden is 81, has always worked out, boxed, etc and is still doing so to a lesser degree. He has a great attitude. “I will lick this thing,” he declares, and you know he will. We need Eric Braeden! He’s an avowed liberal, and his Twitter feed — filled with outrage over the Republicans — is an amusing joy to read every day!
