UPDATE Lady Gaga is his special guest.

Elton John is going to rock Sunset Boulevard at noon today, Saturday. He’s playing a free show in the old Tower Records parking lot in West Hollywood from 12 to 1. AOL is live streaming on aol.com and sponsoring the show. Elton will play old hits and new tracks from his “Wonderful Crazy Night” album.

It’s a fortuitous situation as although Tower is long gone, the abandoned store was restored with its old signage for Colin Hanks’ documentary. So it will be a nod to the past as well.

A wonderful crazy idea. And the weather is absolutely perfect.

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too. They are just another facet of keeping fact based journalism alive.
