The movie “Cruella” may not be the blockbuster Disney hoped for, but the soundtrack is selling like crazy.
“Cruella” is stuffed with oldies from the Bee Gees, Supertramp, Ike and Tina Turner, The Doors, Nina Simone, ELO, Queen, Blondie, The Clash, and the Ohio Players. The music is used to great effect during the film although a score of songs didn’t make the soundtrack even though they’re in the movie. (See below, thanks to a sharp eyed fan.)
Interestingly, the soundtrack is only available for download on iTunes or streaming on amazon. There is no CD. Disney simply skimped out on licensing, obviously. But fans are downloading the iTunes version in droves. The iTunes only album is hanging in there at number 5 after release on May 21st.
You can only imagine if there had been a full album with the songs below, and CDs. “Guardians of the Galaxy” milked the oldies market for a couple of hit albums still on the charts today.
