The number 1 movie in America is a documentary. Well, sort of.

In Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s “You Can See Everything,” you can really see everything including Billy Evans taking a shower. You can also see Fielder getting more and more confused about his relationship with Elizabeth Holmes, and Amanda Seyfried getting an Oscar nomination.

Of course, all that has made the three hour film number 1 at the box office this weekend. They’re up to almost $64 million. How much of that Holmes and Evans will get is unknown, ditto Seyfried. “YCSE” is unique, for sure, and as it’s from A24 watch the National Board of Review eat it up next month.

Another “documentary” isn’t doing so well. “Naza” has stagnated, down 47% from last week, has just $1.1 million banked after more than a month. It’s a bomb. Get it?

“Wicker” is definitely the movie of the week, casting Alexander Skarsgard and Olivia Colman in a crazy wooden horror movie. “Wicker” has made $14 million so far over two weeks. Stories about how they made it are more interesting than the movie.

Still drawing crowds: “Verity” starring Anne Hathaway in her third hit of the year. They’ve made almost $165 million worldwide. Coming after “Devil Wears Prada 2” and “The Odyssey,” this is a hat trick for Oscar winner Hathaway. Bravo!

PS Next Sunday we get the Critics Choice Documentary Awards — will be interesting to see how the group handles “YCSE” and “Naza” among actual documentaries. But you know you’re a big deal if the Tonight Show makes a parody of your film.
