I’ll explain the asterisk in a minute.

On Sunday there will be three segments to “60 Minutes.”

The middle one is from vet Bill Whitaker is about Colorado voting and federal funding for forest fires. It also involves Tina Peters, who was involved in alleged voter fraud, convicted, and then had her sentence commuted by Donald Trump against the wishes of most everyone in that state.

Whitaker is the only member of the former core team on the show Sunday.

The lead story comes from newcomer Gianna Toboni, about forced deportation by the Trump administration of prisoners to third party countries. Toboni comes from VICE news. Toboni will interview the top lawyer at Homeland Security, who will defend this hideous policy. Let’s hope Toboni fights back.

The * belongs to Australian journalist Holly Williams, who’s contributed to the show in the past but very occasionally. The Australian ban on social media is her topic, which sounds like a big yawn but who knows?

Bari Weiss and Nick Bilton’s makeover of “60 Minutes” continues.

Ratings? The 4:30pm NFL games are on Paramount Plus but not CBS. “60 Minutes” has no lead-in, so expect light viewing. Yikes. Weiss and Bilton are real carneys, aren’t they?
