Hollywood is a fickle place.

First they want you, then you’re shown the door.

In the space of a few minutes yesterday I received a welcome and a disinvite from the Creative Community for Peace in Beverly Hills.

First they were thrilled I was coming to their event called Ambassadors of Peace honoring Gene Simmons from the group KISS.

Also coming were David Foster’s daughter, Erin, creator of the Netflix sitcom “Nobody Wants This.” Also, record exec Ethopia Habtemariahm who runs KPop company Hybe. Special guests were promised. Sounds good!

Of course, I have no idea what they’re talking about, and I’m 3,000 miles away.

And then, just as I was dry cleaning my tux, and buying a plane ticket, I was kicked to the curb.

A new email read:

“Dear Roger,
Please disregard the event details email that was sent earlier. It was sent in error.
Please note that this is a ticketed, guest-list-only event. If you are not already confirmed or ticketed to attend, you will not be admitted.
We apologize for the confusion, and thank you for your understanding.
Team CCFP “

Easy come, easy go I go. That’s show business. And the thing is, I wouldn’t have eaten a lot, I promise! And I would have lied to Gene Simmons about liking KISS. But there you go. And now, to quote ex KISSer Ace Frehley, I’m back in the New York groove!

PS to organizers: Nobody, absolutely no one, wanted this invitation.

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too. They are just another facet of keeping fact based journalism alive.
Thank you
