Warner Bros. is taking out that shovel and burying “Digger.”

The numbers aren’t in yet, but the “Digger” days in theaters are almost done.

Looking at movie schedules in Manhattan, downtown Chicago, and New York suburbs, the story is clear.

“Digger” will be gone from most prominent theaters after tomorrow, Wednesday. A fuller retreat happens on Thursday. Right now it’s on 3,321 screens. Over 10 days, “Digger” has made just $14.4 million on a cost of $150-$200 million.

Warner Bros. is pulling out totally places like Times Square and elsewhere in Manhattan. On New York’s Upper West Side, the studio will leave behind a VistaVision print on one screen — since they installed the hardware — but “Digger” will cede its IMAX screens and most of its regular ones.

Actual numbers won’t come in for a couple of days, but if you want to see “Digger” before it’s gone, now is the time.

It’s also a good time to pick up a “Digger” popcorn bucket — the one shaped like a cowboy boot. Talk about a collectible!

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too. They are just another facet of keeping fact based journalism alive.
