Who got the biggest sales bump from the MTV Video Music Awards?

Why, Taylor Swift of course.

Going into the awards on Sunday she already had the number 1 album and top 4 singles on respective charts.

The awards show was just value added. But right now hitsdailydouble.com is predicting a minimum of 150,000 copies for “The Life of a Showgirl: Encore.”

The new version of the old album contains the four new songs.

But also on the singles, Taylor has “The Life of Ophelia” and her “Toy Story 5” song. So her tally for the week will be BIG.

Madonna got a bit of a boost from the show. Her “Danceteria” with Charlie XCX is number 16 on i Tunes and “Bring Your Love” with Sabrina Carpenter is hanging around in the 50s. Madonna’s “Confessions II” album After Hours edition is number 16.

All well and good, but R&B legend Stevie Wonder is the big story of the weekend.

Stevie dropped a four song EP connected to the “Songs in the Key of Life” album’s 50th anniversary. And now the EP is number 3 on iTunes. Fans are loving the songs! It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person or a better album. Bravo!

Also on iTunes from Sunday night — records by Sienna Spiro, SOMBR, and a few others.

Also, Carly Simon’s highly praised “Comes in Waves” has been entered into about five Grammy categories for nominations. “Howl” should be a Best Trad Pop song without a doubt. Now there are CDs in stores and on amazon, too!

Nothing to do with charts, but in music news it looks like Sting has added two more dates at the Brooklyn Paramount for November. There are about 10 other shows and they’re all sold out.
