Hoping that at 9am we’ll see the cover of October’s Vanity Fair.
So, it’s 10 days late. This is September 25th already. Last month we knew on the 14th that designer Marc Jacobs was the consolation prize.
Some of the October issue stories went up on the 24t, last night, but none of them look like cover stories. Seems like the big get was buying an excerpt from former Disney chief Bob Chapek’s book. It was easier than reporting out a story since the magazine has no Hollywood writers.
If we don’t see an October cover this morning, then — Yikes. Shouldn’t it be Tom Cruise? I guess not, he did GQ.
By the way, Anna Wintour must be turning colors. Vogue’s October cover has already been out for a few days. Strange choice– Dakota Johnson on some, Michael B. Jordan on others. I did see the video interview where Dakota didn’t know that Chloe Malle’s mother was Candice Bergen. Chloe handled it with aplomb.
There’s a strangely underreported piece on “The Pitt’ star Katherine LaNasa on vanityfair.com. She had a son with the late Dennis Hopper. I met them in 2011 in Toronto, when Henry starred in a movie called “Restless,” directed by Gus van Sant and starring Mia Wasikowska. Soon after, Henry was accused of rape. He disappeared. (So did Mia, btw.) It might have been interesting to get that story. But Vanity Fair isn’t interested in asking questions.
Also on the website, a lovely piece by Mike Hogan about Wayne Lawson, the editorial engine of Vanity Fair under Tina and Graydon. He died this week, I am sad to report. They say Wayne was 94. It’s not possible! Everyone loved Wayne Lawson. He will be sorely missed.
