Once upon a time in Hollywood, something unusual happened.
Netflix has decided to release box office numbers for six movies they’re putting in theaters.
Pigs are flying, folks.
Streamers never fess up about numbers. If they put a movie in theaters, there is usually no information. They just come and go.
But Netflix must feel they’ve got a hit in “The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth,” which is an unofficial sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” The new film is directed by David Fincher.
Brad Pitt stars as his Oscar winning character from the first movie. Also back is Timothy Olyphant as real life actor James Stacy, who was incredibly popular but saw his career cut short when he lost his leg in a 1973 motorcycle accident. Now, of course, Stacy’s situation would be welcomed.
“Cliff Booth” opens Thanksgiving weekend.
Other Netflix films getting the box office numbers include Danny Boyle’s “Ink,”
Greta Gerwig’s’ “Narnia,” The much hyped “La Bola Negra,” Peter Berg’s “The Mosquito Bowl,” and the new “Charlie vs The Chocolate Factory.”
