Kennedy Daughter-in-Law, aka His Campaign Manager, Can’t Get a Donation from Hardcore Democratic Billionaire Parents (Exclusive)

Share

Robert Kennedy Jr’s campaign manager’s family would have been a great source of money for the conspiracy theorist candidate.

The campaign manager, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy, is also married to Kennedy’s son, Robert III. She’s a former CIA agent, and author of a book about her adventures in the organization.

You’d think she could convince her mother and stepfather to throw in a few bucks. It would be a likely ask since Amaryllis’s stepdad is billionaire Steven Rales.

Rales is worth $8.6 billion, according to reports. He’s the chairman of Danaher Corporation, which he founded with his brother, Mitchell. On the entertainment side, Rales also founded movie production company Indian Paintbrush, which releases high quality films like all of Wes Anderson’s movies since 2007. He recently bought Janus Films and the Criterion Collection.

But here’s the rub: Rales is also a hardcore Democratic donor. Kennedy is the last person to whom he’d made a political donation, and he’s made plenty, Recipients of his largesse include Maine’s Dem senator Angus King, the Democatic Party of Ohio, and Tim Ryan of Ohio, who lost his Senate seat to J.D. Vance.

Amaryllis’s mother, Lalage Rales, is also an active Democratic donor. She’s given to Virginia Senator Mark Warner, the America 2.0 PAC for Democrats, also Tim Ryan and several others. Both Raleses donated to Liz Cheney, one of the most outspoken Trump critics.

The Raleses sound pretty smart, and principled Thank goodness they aren’t Republicans, Kennedy would still be running for president. If he does become Trump’s running mate, don’t expect Kennedy to tap that source.
