Thursday is a big night usually for adults who want to see movies.

Indeed, the whole stretch from Monday to Thursday is when older people check out the films in theaters.

But one movie that hoped for an audience among that crowd is struggling.

“Naza,” the anti Israel “docmentaty” made by two Israelis with anonymous sources from the IDF cannot find a foothold.

On Thursday, “Naza” dropped 19% from Wednesday, which had seen a 65% rise from Tuesday.

But Monday and Tuesday were pretty bleak themselves.

Over the course of 5 weeks, “Naza” has made only $1.1 million. Last week it got up to 105 theaters, But now it’s down to 73, and there’s less interest than ever.

At the IFC Center, where “Naza” sold out a few shows in its first weekend, there are plenty of seats available now.

Of course you can’t imagine there’s much word of mouth. Think what that would be like: “You really have to see this movie shot in darkness with two people talking about Israel bombing Gaza because they’re in a war. And the people who make the claims aren’t named.”

I watched “Naza” this week and thought it was a little naive. After all, in June 2025, Iran targeted a missile at my friend’s Israeli apartment building and killed her and her neighbors. On purpose. They had all spoken out against the Netanyahu administration. And Iran. No one made a movie about that. Hamas targets Israeli buildings all the time. No movie there, either.

I guess “Naza” is heading to streaming. But who will pay 20 bucks to see it is also highly questionable.
