“60 Minutes” is now officially in trouble.

Sunday’s show was the 6th of the season, the lowest rated since at least 2000.

Total viewers were 5.64 million and 558,000 in the key demo.

It’s not that the show is bad, it’s also that hardcore fans are boycotting the show in Scott Pelley, Sharyn Alfonsi, and Cecilia Vega were fired, and Anderson Cooper left.

Of the three segments on Sunday night, only one was anchored by a veteran correspondent, Bill Whitaker.

The other two, while fine, were delivered by people the audience doesn’t know.

The lead segment, on immigration, was very good but lacked buzz of any kind.

This is all thanks to Bari Weiss and Nick Bilton, respectively the head of CBS News and the EP of the show.

Sunday’s telecast was down 60% in total viewers and 81% in the demo compared to last year at this time.

Weiss is dismantling a show with a 58 year history to serve her master, David Ellison, who’s in turn answering to Donald Trump, who hates the free press, sued “60 Minutes,” and wants to see it gone.

This Sunday’s segments haven’t been announced yet, but this is a key weekend leading up to Tuesday’s election. If these pieces have no bite, the show will be doomed.

Of course, the main story this Sunday should be about the new book about Jared Kushner, now number 3 on amazon, and his manipulation of the Middle East policies for extreme self-aggrandizement. But don’t hold your breath. Ellison would never allow it.
