Broadway was booming last week.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus led the charge. Her debut in “Other Desert Cities” brought in a stunning $2.1 million in its second week of previews — up from $1.8 million last week.

JLD is not the only draw for this revival of an award winning play. Ed Harris and Allison Janey are featured in the star-studded cast. The production opens this Sunday.

Meantime, “Hamilton” came in at $3 million, up by a whopping three million dollars! This award winning masterpiece has never been so popular. I guess a lot of people are curious about the founding principles of this country considering the mess we’re in now.

The revival of Aaron Sorkin’s “A Few Good Men,” also in previews, sold out last week. The total box office was $500K. But it shows many people can handle the truth.

And “Chicago,” on the boards since Gerald Ford was president, sold out, also. “Chicago” runs hot and cold depending on stunt casting. Right now a TV reality star named Reece Weaver is playing Roxie Hart. She obviously has a following. (I’ve never heard of her.) She’ll be there for another month. After that, maybe Kimberly Guilfoyle will take over.
