UPDATE SUNDAY MORNING

According to the ad that ran last night on “SNL,” Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Ali G” movie is playing for one weekend only on October 23rd.

According to a check of theaters, “Ali G: Who Iz I?” is getting an extremely narrow release of just a few outlying houses, and even then once or twice a day.

Amazon is clearly dumping the comedy.

One sign that things have gone bad is that hew TV commercial uses Cohen’s Borat character and all of Borat’s flavor to pitch Al G. The two have nothing to do with each other, but Borat is now the bait and switch.

In the new trailer, Borat insists “Ali G” is unfortunately Not Racist, as rumored.

How bad is “Ali G: Who Iz I?” It must be pretty awful

Sacha Baron Cohen has really made a mistake bringing back his Ali G character.

A new ad trailer that popped on “Saturday Night Live” tonightsays the movie is only playing in theaters for one weekend October 23rd.

This is a new wrinkle, something added to the trailer that was running just yesterday.

Then Amazon/MGM will probably stream it on Amazon Prime for anyone who cares.

The movie is already not being shown in Picturehouse theaters in the UK over claims that the Ali G character is racist and objectionable on many levels.

The character was best left alone in time. No one clamored for more of Ali G, who goes around trying to make famous people look stupid. The character has none of the resonance of Borat, Cohen’s better liked if not just as offensive alter ego.

The “Ali G” movie must be pretty bad. And who knows — since no one’s seen it — if there isn’t something in it that Amazon didn’t count on. In the last “Borat” movie, Rudy Giuliani was destroyed in a segment where he lets a “hooker” (actually actress Maria Bakalova) take him up to a room and then unzips his pants while they frolic on a bed.

Don’t forget– Donald Trump. Jeff Bezos’s bff, was once scammed by Ali G.
