UPDATE Golden Globes Issue “Disappointing” List of First Round Presenters, Biggest Name is Quentin Tarantino

The Golden Globes have released their first list of presenters, and one colleague of mine has described it as “disappointing, to say the least.”

The biggest name on the list is Quentin Tarantino. The others are much less well known including Ana De Armas, Ana Gasteyer, Billy Porter, Colman Domingo, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Natasha Lyonne, Nicole Byer, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Tracy Morgan.

It could be that some of them are already guaranteed awards just for showing up. Some people were surprised (and happy — I’m a big fan) to see long ago “SNL” star Ana Gasteyer. But she’s in an NBC comedy returning this winter called “American Auto.” She may be the first of many NBC TV stars promoting their shows.

As for Jamie Lee Curtis, she’s loved by the Globes. This is her eighth nomination this year. She’s won twice. I’m surprised she’s not the host!
