EXCLUSIVE I told you about the weird coincidence of Anne Heche and the actress who succeeded her on the soap, “Another World.” Jensen Buchanan went to jail for nearly killing a man while driving drunk. It’s a miserable, sad story.

Now it turns out that Heche, who is in a coma and fighting for her life after her terrible car accident, was taken to the very special Grossman Burn Unit in suburban Los Angeles. Heche has never had a history of doing anything harmful to anyone, this was an accident, she deserves everyone’s prayers and sympathy. She never intended for this to happen.

Maybe the same can be said for Roberta Grossman. She’s the wife of Dr. Peter Grossman, who inherited the famous Burn Unit from his father. Two years ago, Roberta Grossman sped through Triunfo Canyon Road in Hidden Hills, Los Angeles and struck 11-year-old Mark Iskander and his 8-year-old brother, Jacob, as they were crossing the street with their parents in a marked crosswalk.

The two little boys died. According to reports, Grossman allegedly continued driving after striking the boys, eventually stopping about a quarter-mile away from the scene when her car engine stopped running.

Grossman was ordered this past June to stand trial for two felony counts each of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, along with one felony count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death.. She could face a maximum of 34 years to life in prison if convicted as charged, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Neither Heche nor Grossman set out to cause the destruction that occurred with their accidents. But Grossman’s situation is a tragic coincidence, especially for the wife of a man who’s trying to save lives every day.
