Anita Baker Wants Her Master Recordings Back, Asks Fan to Stop Buying Her Music Until She Gets Them

Share

Anita Baker wants her master recordings returned to her. She wrote on Twitter:

“Miraculously… i have out-lived *ALL, of my Artists Contracts

They no longer “Own”, My Name & Likeness. And, by Law…30 yr old, Mstrs are 2B Returned, 2 Me

Unfortunately, They’re gonna make me Fight 4 it. I’m Prepared, 2 do that. Please Dont advertise/buy them ABXO”

I’m assuming she was on Elektra and Atlantic, Anita’s masters are at Warner Music. She had many hits including the smash “Sweet Love” and many more from the mid 80s to the mid 90s. Can she get them back? We’re rooting for her.
