Trump and Barr Execute Friday Night Massacre, Fire Geoffrey Berman, US D.A. for Manhattan, and He Refuses to Leave

Donald Trump and his henchman, Bill Barr, pulled off a Friday night massacre tonight. They ousted US District Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Geoffrey Berman. Berman is a Republican appointed by Trump after Trump dismissed Preet Bharara. But Berman has acted independently. You can only imagine what Trump would do SCOTUS Chief Justice John Roberts if he could.

Berman responded by saying he wouldn’t go without a fight. Berman said in a Tweet: “I learned in a press release from the Attorney General tonight that I was ‘stepping down’ … I have not resigned, and have no intention of resigning … our investigations will move forward without delay or interruption. I cherish every day that I work with the men and women of this Office to pursue justice without fear or favor – and intend to ensure that this Office’s important cases continue unimpeded.”

No, this isn’t our usual beat. But Trump is out of control. You can pick up the story at or the New York Times, et al.
