Really sorry to hear this: actor John Callahan, a really welcome presence on “All My Children” from 1992-2005, has died of a stroke.
His ex-wife, Eva LaRue, with whom he co-starred on the show, posted an announcement to Instagram. He was 66.
On “AMC,” the Callahans played Edmund and Maria Grey. Callahan appeared on other soaps, and was a regular on the nighttime CBS hit, “Falcon Crest,” in the 1980s. I remember him well. He was a very good actor, unafflicted by soap opera scenery chewing. He had a very natural quality, which was what kept him on the show for 13 years.
Callahan and La Rue divorced in 2005, and have a daughter. Condolences to them.
