The Gotham Awards announced their nominations today–this is like the East Coast version of the Spirit Awards, and has little to do with the Oscars. Which is a good thing. This is for indie films. And they’ve made excellent choices– “The Descendants,” “Beginners,” “Tree of Life,” “Take Shelter,” and “Meek’s Cutoff” were their best feature nods. Here’s the rest.
