Katherine Jackson: NBC Buys Only Video Interview with Michael Jackson’s Mom
NBC has bought an interview with Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine. The interview will air on Dateline on Friday night, opposite ABC’s big 20/20 piece.
The Katherine Jackson interview was produced by Michael’s former business partner, Marc Schaffel. It’s the only one with Mrs. Jackson made for the anniversary of Michael’s death.
Of course, the interview will promote her new book, “Never Can Say Goodbye” which went on sale today and which we told you about exclusively last week.
The interview covers a range of subjects including Michael’s kids, Debbie Rowe, accusations against Michael that he was a child molester, and of course, Michael’s death.
I’m told the bidding war between ABC and NBC was intense, but that ABC had already wrapped their project and there was no way to insert the material.
Meanwhile, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, some kind of preparations are being made for Saturday’s Jackson Family Foundation inaugural whatever. Mrs. Jackson says in a taped piece that she’ll sign autographs for “Never Can Say Goodbye.” The rest of it should be just as weird. Eveyone grieves in their own way, that’s for sure.
More to come, undoubtedly…

Can you please email me and tell me who designed your site?
If it would bring peace to the Jackson family, let it go!!! I feel from the moment Michael purchase that catalog, his life went on a downward spiral. It’s not worth it, let the greedy people have it, better yet let Paul McCarthy have it if he want it. It’s not worth it people!!!! Move on!!!!
bashir and diamond still work for abc i won’t watch it.
There is one obstacle…the ATV catalogue will lose value as the copyrights will automatically revert back after 30 years to Lennon/mcCartney and as a music business lawyer Branca knows this. This starts in 2013 as this is the date the Lennon / Mc cartny songs were officially published.
Thank you Moko!!! I’m so tired of these conspiracy mongrels. The catalog will NOT be sold but refinanced.
How many years has the media been alluding to the fact that Michael will HAVE to sell his stake in that catalog? I’d say for the last 20+ years.
EVERYTIME the loan became due, the media would write the same exact article. Pulling the wool over the eyes of the gullible, time and time again, in my opinion.
And now it appears that that same media will continue to write articles about that catalog, replacing MJ’s name with the name of the Estate executors.
Yeah, do people ever wonder why Sony avoided releasing Beatles music, and music from other artists in the ATV catalog BEFORE June 25,2009????

@ tess: No, it’s exactly the opposite. Check out the correct source:
“The Jackson estate and Sony have held talks about whether the company will again guarantee a refinancing of the debt backed by Mr. Jackson’s Sony/ATV stake. If it won’t, the estate could be forced to sell its stake in Sony/ATV at a steep discount, though that would still generate enough cash to wipe out the Barclays loan with hundreds of millions to spare. But Sony may have an incentive to reach a deal on refinancing, because buying out Mr. Jackson’s estate would require it to pay hundreds of millions of dollars for an asset it already effectively controls.”

I also believe that Michael’s death was not what the media has portrayed. I believe the motivation to have Michael gone, is soley behind the fact that the music catalogs (the beatles, etc), are the key to his death. Mrs Jackson and the other Jackson’s should make sure those catalogs are not sold, otherwise, Michaels death would have been in vain. They knew his weaknesses, and they used it against him. Someday, as always, the truth will unfold, and only the people who see the facts, and keep their eyes open, know the truth!

Well this will be interesting to see.
Joe is putting Katherine up to this. It’s pathetic that she REFUSES to stand up for herself and say NO even after seeing her son Michael and family destroyed.
Off Topic:
This article surfaced today. It’s EXTREMELY troublesome.
“MJ ESTATE FACING HUGE DEBT”
Although the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate have settled most of his financial woes, they are struggling with a $300 million loan due at the end of the year.
The massive loan from Barclays PLC, which is backed by his 50% stake in SONY/ATV, matures at the end of the year.
In order to secure the loan in 2006, Michael looked to Sony for help even though he was already close to defaulting on a $270 million loan held by hedge fund Fortress Investment Group LLC.
The Jackson estate and Sony have discussed whether the company will guarantee refinancing of the debt backed by Michael’s Sony/ATV stake.
And Sony wants them to do so! It could mean them paying hundreds of millions for a catalog that he already controls.
Considering the mess they got the Jackson family out of already, we’re sure the executors will figure something out!
