Box Office: “The Fall Guy” Not Connecting with Audiences, Sees $25 Mil Opening Weekend Despite Top Reviews, Solid Word of Mouth

Share

“The Fall Guy” needs a stunt, quickly.

The Ryan Gosling-Emily Blunt action comedy made a little over $7 million last. Combined with previews, the opening day number comes comes $10.8 million.

Based on that, “The Fall Guy” is headed to a $25 million weekend. This is disappointing, considering that reviews are excellent at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Also, we need a film like “The Fall Guy” right now as a bridge to summer releases. Audiences should be flocking to it, but they’re holding back for some reason.

Right now the audience score is only 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, which doesn’t make sense. Cinemascore is A minus, which means the people who did see it really liked it.

So spread the word! After all, this IS “Barbenheimer” — two Oscar nominated actors from last year’s biggest hits. What more do you need?
