Tony Awards On CBS Will Again Be Hosted by Ariana DeBose After Last Year’s Success

Share

The Tony Awards are back on CBS on June 16th.

This year’s host will the same as last year’s — Ariana DeBose, an Oscar winner and Tony nominee.

De Bose was a big hit last year hosting the show from the ghastly United Palace Theater in Washington Heights. This year the show will come from what we call the New York State Theater in Lincoln Center (it’s formally known as the David Koch Theater, but let’s not go there).

De Bose will also open the show with a spectacular number she’s choreographed.

There should be lots of stars as presenters and plenty of cool winners. This is a hot Broadway season. Last night I saw the revival of “Tommy,” which should give “Merrily We Roll Along” some competition for Revival of a Musical. Jeremy Strong is already in the lead for Best Actor in a Play. So hold on!
