Get Up, Stand Up: Bob Marley Movie “One Love” Makes Whopping $14 Mil on Mid Week Opening

Share

Boom!

The Bob Marley movie “One Love” made an outstanding $14 million last night in its mid week opening.

Not bad!

Marley has a huge following internationally, which seems to have translated into huge numbers apparently.

The film, directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, and stars Kingsley Ben Adir as Marley, Lawshana Lynch plays Rita Marley, Bob’s flamboyant wife.

This is a film with an interesting divide: critics didn’t like it, with just 44% on Rotten Tomatoes. At the same time, the audience score is 95% . The word is the music sequences are spectacular.

If the numbers catch on, Paramount will be popping Champagne corks!
