Dolly Parton Eyeing Number 1 Debut Ever with “Rockstar”Album After Saying She Wasn’t a Rock Star

Share

Dolly Parton is about to have a breakthrough after half a century.

Parton’s “Rockstar” album is going to debut at number 1 later this week with 140,000 copies sold. She’s jumped ahead of contemporary acts like Taylor Swift and Drake.

Remember when Dolly said she declined being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? She said she wasn’t a rock artist.

But then her mind was changed and she was voted right in.

By coincidence she decided to make an album of classic rock songs with the people who originated them.

And now, it’s number 1! And it’s pretty good! Guests include Sting, Paul and Ringo, Steven Tyler, Miley Cyrus, and Linda Perry on “What’s Up”!
