It’s good news and bad news at the box office.

“Avengers: Endgame” took in $145.8 million for its second weekend, the 2nd biggest 2nd weekend in history. It fell short of breaking the record set by “The Force Awakens” and dropped 60%. Cry me a river, yes. But “Endgame” may not have what it takes to break some big records, just some small ones.

Still, compared to regular movies…

“Long Shot” made just $10 million. It success was a long shot as a rom-com starring Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen. It got decent reviews. But it also seemed a lot like “Knocked Up” from its trailer and ads. Rogen was on Colbert Friday night and talked about his cannabis business, being high while making movies, and seemed high during the interview. It was off putting. Rogen is 37 already. Grow up. I know he’s smarter than that. I haven’t seen “Long Shot” but it seems like something that will on an airplane very soon.

“Dumbo” is the rare domestic Disney failure– just $109 million in the US with a cost of $170 million. Luckily in China, Mexico, and other foreign territories the movie’s failings didn’t matter. Total foreign: $229 million.

Showbiz411 is now in its 13th year of providing breaking and exclusive entertainment news. This is an independent site, unlike the many Hollywood trades that are owned by one company. To continue providing news that takes a fresh look at what's going on in movies, music, theater, etc, advertising is our basis. Reader donations would be greatly appreciated, too.
