Home Celebrity Actor Gary Oldman Ends His Career in Hollywood with Racist, Anti-Semitic Interview...

British actor Gary Oldman has had a nice very career in Hollywood. Now, it’s over. Oldman tells Playboy magazine that Hollywood is “run by Jews,” suggests that those Jews make fun of Germans, and says that the policeman with whom Mel Gibson became embroiled in a huge anti-Semitic scandal probably is anti-Semitic himself. Oldman seems unaware that James Mee, the policeman, is Jewish himself.

Good bye, Gary. We can live without you. And trust me, we will. Oldman was nominated for an Oscar in 2012 for “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.” I hope he enjoyed it.

Here are the quotes:

“I don’t know about Mel. He got drunk and said a few things, but we’ve all said those things. We’re all fucking hypocrites. That’s what I think about it. The policeman who arrested him has never used the word nigger or that fucking Jew? I’m being brutally honest here. It’s the hypocrisy of it that drives me crazy. Or maybe I should strike that and say “the N word” and “the F word,” though there are two F words now.”

“Alec calling someone an F-A-G in the street while he’s pissed off coming out of his building because they won’t leave him alone. I don’t blame him. So they persecute. Mel Gibson is in a town that’s run by Jews and he said the wrong thing because he’s actually bitten the hand that I guess has fed him—and doesn’t need to feed him anymore because he’s got enough dough. He’s like an outcast, a leper, you know? But some Jewish guy in his office somewhere hasn’t turned and said, “That fucking kraut” or “Fuck those Germans,” whatever it is? We all hide and try to be so politically correct. That’s what gets me. It’s just the sheer hypocrisy of everyone, that we all stand on this thing going, “Isn’t that shocking?” [smiles wryly] All right. Shall I stop talking now? What else can we discuss?”

  1. Gawd I miss the “Blazing Saddles” days when everyone poked fun at everyone and nobody got all butt hurt over it. It added levity to an ongoing social issue (which IMO was much more healthy than the false self righteous rage that it has evolved into) I agree with Gary 100%! Racism hasn’t gone anywhere, society had just learned to “white wash” their racism (See what I did there? LOL!) Everyone is bigoted to some degree. Sociolgically humans need to separate and categorize. Hell, you have blacks accusing other blacks of “not being black enough”- whatever that means. Fundamentalist Christians publicly denounce gays. And YES the Jewish community does own the Lions share of Hollywood! Why is that fact considered an anti-semetic remark? Kudos to you Gary Oldman for pulling the veneer of a culture that wants to believe it is far more evolved than it actually is!

  2. Gary oldman didn’t suggest anything sinister
He just saying that we all say things that we do not necessarily mean from time to time
It’s just the sheer pressure and the personal experiences that each of us go through

The description in this article about what Gary oldman said is clearly misrepresented and turned intentionally on him by the U.S. media which is not new

I can also bet my life that so many times other races and such were made fun and attacked but were passed off without any problem
In Hollywood, it’s selective regarding who u attack so no wonder mel and Gary are attacked this way

    Nuff said

  3. As always you accomplish what you set out to do. Your agenda is to PC all white christians . It is ok to say anything about Christians but heaven forbid a white non jewish person say a word about jews or blacks that is not kissing their as*. You are immediately labeled a racist. You are the problem and the reason there is polarization continuing in this country. This is a non story.

  4. As a Black man I can honestly say there is absolutely NOTHING in what I just read that I find insulting or even slightly racist. So he said the word nigger…that makes him a racist? He wasn’t calling a Black man or woman a nigger, he was pointing out the hypocrisy in that too many people like to get offended about everything people say as if they have no skeletons in their respective closets too. It’s amazing though when I think back to elementary school & being taught reading comprehension, I never realized how difficult it is for many people. The crazy part is, the person who seems to have a hard time with it in this case, is the very person who wrote the article! Perhaps they have their own agenda that they’re trying to promote, but it would be nice if “journalists” stuck to reporting facts instead of lacing everything with both negative takes on things as well as misleading opinionated rhetoric designed to create revenue. Focus on writing a good insightful article instead of trying to stir emotions in people.

  5. Well Mr. Friedman, I think you proved Gary Oldman’s point. He points out hypocrisy in the political correctness of Hollywood and you immediately take it out of context and declare his career over. Congratulations, I will not be reading any more of your articles.

  6. We need the sophistication and adulthood in this country to decline to jump around like unstrung marionettes at the undigested stimulus of every “trigger” or buzzword to cross our scanners. Mel Gibson got stupid drunk, drove a car, which should be the focus of the issue – there he actually put people’s lives at risk, and he also expressed some ugly, but human, all too human prejudices. Practically everyone has those. Practically everyone, at some point, will give voice to them Some people think it is higher-minded to try and drown them out with hysterical witch-hunting and finger-pointing, but it seems that Gary Oldman’s actual point in these statements was that humanity (and who knows this better than a great actor, or other psychologist, who has been called upon to comprehend humanity from its highest to lowest points) is as ugly as it is beautiful, and this is universally true, and any arguments to the contrary rest on hypocrisy and/or the utmost embrace of delusion.

  7. The writer is a fool. How brave. How covetous of the freedom Oldman speaks his mind with.
So afraid of crossing the self-IMPOSED PC speach line, author denigrates anyone unabashedly
    unwilling to conform. A slave.

  8. Wow! This is SO not offensive to anyone. The reporter (Roger Friedman) is taking everything Oldman said completely out of context—almost like he’s trying to create a scandal just for the sake of it. These are sad days for journalism and liberty.

  9. Typical liberal writer. If you engage in free speech, then your career is over. What Oldman should have done is come “out” as Conservative. Then his career would’ve died for sure, until we get some more intelligence in Hollywood.

  10. It is funny how the article actually mirrors the statement that Mr.Oldman makes. I don’t think he is a racist, just pointing out the obvious hypocrisy in the movie industry.

  11. Oldman makes not a single derogatory remark about Jews or anyone else in these quotes and the writer declares a death sentence to his career. Oldman simply describes a hyper-PC situation in which hypocrites intimidate free speaking people to a observe a contrivedly “correct” lexicon. I’m with Oldham on this…, fuck anti-free speech Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Baptists, Democrats, Republicans, Caucasians, Blacks, Evangelicals, Environmentalists, or any other group or individual who wants to cap free expression.
